Syracuse Should be Ashamed
Congrats to EVERY OTHER school in the Big East for being 2-0 right now. Syracuse has a long and storied football tradition and they will have a worse season than 2 years ago.

This should be Robinson's last season and Daryl Gross has a lot of work to do to make sure this program returns to its former glory. This is sad and pathetic, and granted they played two good teams, the fact that they couldn't score ANY points last night is shameful.

All the other schools in the Big East have done their part...let's step it up.

I'm a SU season ticket holder and I want this joke of a AD and Coach gone. There is absolutly no way that SU should be this bad. Coach Greg Robinson didn't even know what players were on the filed last night

- We have a strong fanbase
-We have a very good tradition
-We are the only BCS school in NY
- We have a dome so weather is never an issue

I am really surprised about Cuse's struggles. Marvin Graves, McNabb, and Freeny seem like a long time ago. Cuse recruiting classes over the last 5 years seem good enough. The coaching has to be really bad.

The tradition will always give us a leg up for recruiting, there really is no reason they should be so bad. Things have just been handled really badly by the coaches and Gross really screwed things up by wanting to make the department his own when he was hired. I hate to say it, but I think things would be better off with Pasq back coaching.

Robinson is by no way a good coach and I think by the end of this season he's gone.

Well the 'Cuse needs to get their act together because rising teams like USF and UC hold little respect for the SU program.

I think Syracuse's problem extends down from the top. If they get rid of the AD, they'll be fine.

Speak for yourself, and not for your program or USF, unless of course you have conducted a survey of fans from those 2 schools. Not trying to be disrespectful, but I have noticed your childish posting here of late, and you really seem to be hostile of Syracuse and their fans. Why? You seem to be a Cincy fan, but not at all like the other respectful Cincy fans on this board.

I agree. Gross is trying to make moves similar to the moves that he made at USC. He is credited with the hiring Pete Carrol, which was a fantastic move. But something tells me it was a lucky move on his part.

He has done some great things for the SU program, for instance getting a new radio station in NYC to broadcast our fb and bb games and some other behind the scenes coups. But the guy made a bad decision in hiring Robinson. If he does 'nt get rid of him this season, he should go as well. He got rid of Pasqualoni, who never had a team as bad as the teams that Robinson put on the field. Robinson simply does not know how to coach, and I am sick of his on the job learning experiments.

Syracuse will turn it around eventually. The history is there, and the "name" is there - they are a national program. Just about everyone goes thru down periods - look at Michigan and ND this season.

It seems obvious to me that this will be Robinson's last season, and then SU can begin the building process. Obviously the next coach hired will be critical to SU's long-term future.

We are all aware that Cuse is bad...do have to keep brining this up? They are horrid...okay. Good news is, they have a great repuation and I'm sure if you fire Robinson, get a good coach in there, it will turn around in no time. Little tougher now with Rutgers coming on and UCONN in the game as far as recruiting goes but it will get better....just give it time. jeesh

Sagarins rankings are out. Syracuse is behind Buffalo and would rank 9th in the MAC in Sagarins. Big East is ahead of ACC in Sagarins at #5, but Syracuse drags down the conference being 1/8 of the score.

RE: Syracuse Should be Ashamed
Gross also has screwed a lot of other things up.

He fired the field hockey coach after 29 seasons, who had a 316-214-14 record and 20 winning seasons at SU.

He cut Swimming and Diving to add Women's Ice Hockey

He openly said that the football team probably won't play another national Friday Night game for a long time because it takes away from "academics", which means other weeknight games are totally out of the question...opting to go with few to no national games.

He's done a few good things like dress up the dome in Orange and I agree getting NYC broadcasts was a good move, but he's done more harm than good. The Robinson hiring was made 100% out of arrogance, to make his mark on the program and make a big splash in his first few weeks on the job.
