The same Gregg Doyel (CBS Sportsline) that has Nevada #7 in his preseason poll -- after ripping Nick Fazekas during the NCAA tourney -- predicts New Mexico St. will make the Sweet 16...in 2007.

New Mexico St doesn't have a PG for the coming year. Correct me if I'm wrong, NMSU fans, but didn't your PG get injured? Please updated us on your PG situation. Wasn't the other PG candidate academically inelligible?
I don't see them in the sweet sixteen. I think Doyle is smoking something. However, I think they have a good shot at the sweet sixteen in the coming years. Not this year.
Mark my words:
1. Nevada
2. Utah St (the northern aggies have a shot to make a run in the NCAA tournament.) Can't help but be upset every time you hear the name "James Life" as an Aggie fan.
3. Hawai'i
4. La Tech

Correct the article (if you read it) says not to expect much this year. It talks about all the talent he is stockpiling for next year.
Our McDonalds All American point guard injurd his foot and should be ready to play by December. We also just picked up Shaun Davis. Was highly recruited out of hs in Cal (led the state of Cal in scoring as a soph). Went to Pepperdine and played good as a freshman. He then went transferred to juco (grades?) He was suppose to go to USC this year but we just got him and will play this year. Im guessing here again that grades may have kept him from enrolling at SC.
here is a link with more info.

Tyrone Nelson and Hatila DeSouza were also new names to me. What's the scoop with them?
Will Shaun Davis have 3 years eligibility?
Lastly, (minor clarification) if I remember right, Ingram was nominated for McDonald's All-American, but wasn't selected. Is that correct?

Thanks for the updates. Wow, that's a lot of changes. The Red Aggies might be a lot better this year than most people think.
A couple questions, if you know:
1) How many years eligibility does Davis have? 3?
2) What happened to Chinemelu Elonu, Keilon Fortune, Duane John, ....?
Reviewing my notes, the McDonalds All-American nomination was Supo Jegede: factoids -
SO year: Northeastern Plainsmen made it to the NJCAA National Championship game. In the Region XI Tournament, Jegede earned all-tournament honors.
FR year: played at Lamar CC w/Quinton Hosley (now at Fresno St.)
HS: first team All-State (Colorado)...same year as Nick Fazekas (Nevada); MVP of All-Star game and earned a 2002 McDonald's All-American nomination. Originally signed w/Wyoming.
