Well, we should know either today (1/4/07) or Friday for sure, who will be the next Offensive Coordinator at FSU. Rumor mill has it that it will be Jimbo Fisher from LSU. Also Lawrence Dawsey, who played wide receiver at FSU back when and who was recently a coach at South Florida will be coaching at FSU. Also read where Kevin Steele was contacted by Nick Saban to coach at Alabama. Also, if Steele leaves and Fisher does come to coach at FSU, he'll be in the drivers' seat to take over from Bobby Bowden when Bowden retires.

Oh yeah, another tidbit... if Steele leaves Amato is rumored to return to FSU... wouldn't that be something... hehehe BUT Amato could also be headed to Minnesota to be the head coach.

Rick Trickett has been hired by FSU to become their offensive line coach. Rick was a coach at West Virginia in the same capacity. He told head Coach Rich Rodriguez Wednesday night about his decision.

Kevin Steele is going to coach at Alabama. Nick Saban and Bama are trying to lure Jimbo Fisher away from commiting to coach at FSU... also Edgar Bennett is expected to return to his alma mater to coach the running backs. And is also looks like we're getting Chuck Amato back.

Jimbo Fisher finally officially became the offensive coach at Florida State today. He signed a three year deal. It also been said that when Bobby retires, Jimbo will take over as Head Coach.

So are there any Bowdens other than Big Papa left on the staff?

FSU has hired another former player to coach the running backs. Dexter Carter, who played for the Noles from '86 to '89 as a running back, and also played in the NFL for the 49ers, agreed to coach the running backs at Florida State.

Word is that if Gailey goes to the NFL, Jimbo Fisher would be hired as GT's head coach.

Well, isn't that interesting. And by the way, another interesting thing is the Noles hired back Chucky Amato. I keep reading that there was no way Chucky would come back to FSU, but he was hired as the linebackers coach and his official title is... executive associate head coach and linebackers' coach. FSU has all the coaches' positions filled and they're hitting the recruiting trail. Ought to be good.
