RE: Vick Pleads Guilty
I actually didn't think his public speaking/pronunciation was all that bad.
Athletes are not hired to be public speakers. Some morph into it rather smoothly, many don't speak all that well on or off the field.
You can hear ALOT worse from many professional athletes and others with a college degree.
My assessment of where his heart and attitude may really be was based upon body language, facial expressions, how he persed his lips between statements, eye contact etc.
Rather amazing to consider in his mind and by his statements that he attributed his behavior and choices to immaturity rather than other values or deeper pyschological/personal factors such as satifsfaction derived from cruelty or the lack of emotions like compassion which I certainly would not expect any recently convickted felon to understand or acknowlege in public.
Did we ever hear him say I did something WRONG?

RE: Vick Pleads Guilty
To me he sounded like a guy who just entered a guilty plea who knows he's facing jail time who knows this will never really be behind him (self-inflicted reputation damage, loss of millions of dollars, future career in doubt the jail time, the time he's going to spend with investigators talking about others in the dog fighting world, possibly appearing before grand juries and even in trials if it comes to it..)
He sounded depressed and beaten down by his life (as he should). In that mental state, I don't think a person can seem anything other than flat- whether they are sincere or not it will all come out the same.

He said he was sorry for what he did (and this is the key) sorry for what he allowed to happen. So he took public ownership over his actions and his role in the whole enterprise. He actually took more responsibility in his statement than what he admitted to in his plea agreement.
You did actually see/listen to it right?
He also repudiated dog fighting- time and future statements and actions will show the sincerity of it.

RE: Vick Pleads Guilty
I heard much in separate segments but not entirely from front to back.
Sorry is so easy to say when you are about to face a sentencing hearing shortly.
Reminds me of wife beaters who say it often then repeat the behavior and the enabling spouse is also singled out for accepting the spouses apologies over and over again.
(I like the fact the judge is an avid dog owner himself. Sounds like an appeal coming to me.)
