CyberBull Wrote:BTW...where are your students and band going to sit?

FYI...the UCF Students will have basically the entire South End Zone section of the stadium (bottom section of photo) and the Band will be right next to it in the SE Corner of the Stadium.

Visitors sections will be in the Northeast Corner (upper right section in photo).

The new construction mixed with the new helmet (new on left, old on right)

shows that UCF is ready to compete with any school.
LOL. The most ridiculous statement ever authored on any message board ever.

Those things do NOT show that you're ready to compete with any school. They show a huge capital investment in a team that's got a .333 winning percentage under their overpaid coach.

You have ONE win against a BCS team in your history. You need to focus on beating teams like SMU and ECU and worry less about playing with the big boys just yet.

UCF fans, as an ECU fan who LIKES you as a conference bretheren, and is not under the strange delusions that Big East message board posters will sit down with their college presidents and vote for their new member, your new facilities look GREAT!!!!

The new helmet comment is hilarious though. Kind of like when I was a kid and I got a new pair of tennis shoes, I thought they would make me run faster and jump higher!!!!

I was speaking of marketability and public image wise. I thought it was obvious from the context.

ucf fans are a piece of work they drink the koolaid and than feel its their duty to preach the "good news" to every college football fan that's willing to listen. the arena looks really nice that gym you had was subpar even compared to asun standards, i especially liked how you had two garage doors on both sides of the floor where you wheeled in the basketball nets. as far as the rivalry talk, it can't be a true rivalry unless you win a game on the field. much like our series w/ miami, even though its going to be nationally televised, etc we need to win at least one to really make this series matter.

The door was only on the east side of the arena...And that was hidden for the last 2 years.

Although I was giving my personal opinion on why fans promote their schools, I was trying to relate this post to other posters on this board. Promoting programs is something done by every member of this forum. In addition, even insults are attempts to promote oneself at the expense of others. USF fans are equally guilty. You are ignoring broader concepts.

Also

Rival
1. a person who is competing for the same object or goal as another, or who tries to equal or outdo another; competitor.
2. a person or thing that is in a position to dispute another's preeminence or superiority: a stadium without a rival.

I have to laugh every time USF and UCF fans get together... its worse than a couple of drunk men fighting over the same ugly woman. I like to throw a couple barbs USF(green cows) way once in a while but some of these fans from both sides really need to sit down and have them selves a beer...

RE: UCF Construction Photo
I agree that this thread should not have put on this board. Not really sure why. I do love the USF responses, not one of them were positive. A few back handed slaps, and a lot of envy.

UCF is making the investments into its athletics because of what the University itself has accomplished. Not very often can a university the size of UCF change its image. But UCF is no longer a commuter school. You don't need to see the athletic village to see this. Just look at the other side of the campus where there is new housing, the student athletic center and the pool around the housing. It looks like an all incluse resort you would find in the islands. The leadership at UCF has done a great job when it comes to remaking UCF's image and that has nothing to do with athletics.

UCF will enroll 43 national merit scholars this year. Not bad for an old commuter school.

Envy...are you serious? Your problem is you can't handle USF having success and you simply ignore all the good things that nothing good happens at USF.

UCF fans are perfectly entitled to think their future is bright, but USF doesn't take a back seat to anyone based on everything that it has accomplished over the last 10 years.

Envy?

That we are not in CDOA?

USF will eventually get it's own stadium, but until we do RJS is an excellent venue and as the program progresses more and more fans will show up.

Let's see what UCF does on the field this Fall...

I like the fact that the seats will be very much right on top of the field. And it looks like big expansions can be put into place which is very good. While I'd love to see the eastern dream conference, it probably will never happen and I'd have to figure that UCF and Memphis have best positioned themselves at this juncture. Congrats on the new digs guys!

Thanks Brista, you're right, the fans are about 30 feet from the field and it will be very loud. One of the benefits of building a stadium today is the ability to look at what has worked and what has not. I was at the stadium today and is hard to believe that only two years ago, this area of UCF was nothing more then pine trees. Now UCF will be playing football on campus and basketball in the nicest facility in the state by far. We have great leadership at UCF and it is showing all over the campus, as I said UCF will bring in 43 national merit scholars this year, almost doubt from last year. It is more then just athletics.
