Fantasy Football League
Alright this is an open thread to anybody who has participated in a variety of fantasy football leagues...

I am going to be in a 10 person league. I am essentially looking for the best format for fantasy football where the most someone can lose is $150-$200 or so. I'm debating between a simple overall points system or a head to head system with total points having some effect on the payouts. also, I was considering having each point be worth about $.25, so the most someone would likely lose in the scenario would be about $125 (given an average score per week of ~115)

I'm not sure how to go about charging people in the league for add/drops, trades, etc.

If anyone has suggestions please let me know. It's the first time I'll be commissioner for a league with money involved.

If you want to make sure no one can lose more then 125 why not just have a 100 dollar buy in with dollar per move made.

Seems a pretty simple answer to your problem; not sure why you want to make it so complex.

I do a league where you pay a dollar per player you pick up and then all the teams that do not score the most points each week pay 7 dollars per week. So if you do not score the most points any of the weeks the most you can pay is $142 plus the number of moves you make during the season.

I don't exactly know the exact numbers but its something like this; the overall winner of the league wins 100 dollars then the rest of the money goes for the playoffs. First place in the playoffs wins like 50% second gets 30% and third gets 20%

RE: Fantasy Football League
We do a similar pay out in our league although we just have a flat fee and then the move cost as I suggested.
Regular season winner gets their buy in, then everything else is toward playoffs.
70%
20%
10%
(of what's left minus the 10% that went to the regular season winner; we have a 10 team league).

i havent done fantasy football in a while so this question may seem stupid but...

dont the playoffs go through like weeks 15-17? doesnt seem to make much sense if you have awesome players on awesome teams who are going to sit their players the last few weeks. there has to be something i dont remember or am not thinking of[/align]
