To All Border Fence Supporters
Now that work on the border fence in Texas is about to begin, a couple of questions for supporters of the fence.
1. Do you believe the fence will actually help stem the tide of illegal immigrants? It won’t stop the ones coming in trucks or tunnels and every time I see a clip of the fence in California there are always illegal immigrants running through it.
2. Do you support ending the exemption which allows Cuban illegal immigrants to stay if they reach American soil? If not, how is this not a double standard?
3. Was Regan wrong when he told the Soviets to tear down the Berlin wall? Why does the ideology of the government matter when conditions are bad enough that people are willing to risk life & limb for a chance to improve their situation?

1. When did those California border wall crossings take place? I don't remember the walls being "double walled". I think that was old footage before the new wall was put in. Also, I don't expect illegal immigration to end but it can lower it dramatically and areas where there may not be wall, you can concentrate the border guards to stop most of the rest.
2. Yes. I do support ending it.
3. I don't think he was wrong. But this is slightly different. Besides stopping 50-100,000,000 people coming from Mexico(which the country's infrustructure/natural resources can't support). There is also slowing down or eliminating possible terrorists/gang members from entering the country.

The big difference is that the Berlin wall was meant to keep people in, not out.
I don't really have a feeling either way on the wall, but I just thought your analogy of equating a wall representing communism to the new one being built was pathetic at best.
