This is all you ever need to know about polls
Whether the poll in question SUPPORTS your opinion or is AGAINST your opinion:

Or if you need a more modern-day version:

Of course, that has nothing to do with the way polling is done today. Back then, they used mostly phone polling and many of Truman's supporters were rural voters who didn't have phones.

Also, they stopped polling weeks before the election, which was a huge mistake.

Yeah, now they have online polling, with DUers voting twice, which they BRAG about. Hell, we ALL know that's MUCH more accurate. [Image: whatever.gif]

Polls are bull****. If you don't think so, why in the hell didn't Kerry win? I've never been polled and don't know a f'n soul who has. Polls can be skewed to fit the person(s) agenda. This is learned in statistics. You are educated at a higher level, aren't you?

Online polls are BS. We are not talking about online polls.

The statistical methods used today in real polls are rather accurate. You can also visit Polling Report, which uses many different polls in an effort to reduce bias.

No they're not.

They almost never list all the candidates in teh question asking you who you support.

They never poll cellphone numbers -- and there's a huge number of people (me included) that only use a cellphone. The landline will go the way of the dodo bird over time, save DSL use.

They exclude the 18-34 demographic as being "too tough" to poll. And what about the age of 35 suddenly makes it easier for you incompetent jagoffs?

And if you believe those pollsters, Gore won Florida shortly after midnight the day of the election.

Polls are HIGHLY bias towards the frontrunners, and are ballpark in accuracy. The only time they have value is when each party has selected their candidate ... then they're a decent ballpark comparison of head to head support. But they still screw over the third parties then.

In this thread there is an article. Polling is a big part of the stroy in that article. I think that you'll find the article to be quite interesting. http://www.ncaabbs.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=240339

Are you still ticked off that Ron Paul is polling in the single digits?

ALL polls are bull****. They can ALL be skewed to fit the pollster's agenda. Again, did you take statistics?
