I heard a rumor that the BoR was going to restructure the system and tier KSU and UWG along with VSU and GaSou. Have any of y'all heard anything along those lines. I think it'll be great if it happens. It's odd having regionals only in South GA.

no i havent heard that but that would be great. i think KSU is more regional now.

Currently, the University System of Georgia is tiered into five levels of institutions in the following order:

research
regional
state university
state college
college (junior college)

The research universities are UGA, GT, G-State, and the Medical College of Georgia. The regionals are Valdosta State and Georgia Southern. KSU is classified as a state university. The difference between between the regional universities and the state universities is expanded graduate offerings.
