People are saying on the mlive board that these two players are enrolled in classes and could be on the team this fall. I know most people are really down on Darryl, but i loved him and would welcome him with open arms. Leon sounded like a headcase in high school and never really got his act together, but maybe he's turned a page. I really hope these rumors are true, and i hope they do well in classes.

I'm not HuronDave but I'll offer a little speculation.

First, I'm trying to find out about Leon. I have a source who probably knows. Freeman has super talent.

However, it should be remembered that Leon's mother lives in Ypsilanti. Therefore if Leon comes home and plays open gym ball it would be very easy to assume too much.

To my knowledge, and Dennis pays more attention to this stuff then me, Darryl never got his academics in order at any community college. My vague recollection is that he didn't last long at Schoolcraft. Last I e-mailed someone who knows Darryl well it was like how can he **** up so badly and ruin everything he had going for him.

Now someone could say either or both are taking classes at Eastern, and what I posted would be null and void.

neither are registered students on the emu student directory, which is a pretty good indication that they are not taking classes at emu.

They may not be registered till fall and would not show on it till then.

if they've registered for fall classes, which they should have (my daughter did a while ago...) it would show up in the directory (i worked on developing a different school's online directory)

The info on Leon is very, very old.

without bashing the kid, but any information dating back to the fall of '06 is null and void and has probably changed many times.

My guess Leon will go where and as far as he can without being a student. Could be NBA developmental league, Europe, etc. etc.

I assume Leon is 19 and one year removed from his high school class and is free to do what ever he wants.

Excuse me ice I have been around EMU a long time and they have not been all that swift on updating the directores. So don't tell me I am wrong unless you can prove it stop being an EMU insider.

listen, i was just saying they aren't in the directory (as many 07 freshman football players are). not sure why that is so hard for you to understand.

Are you goin to start that here now too? You're the one that is acting like emuinsider not me. All I said is that a lot of the time the directory has been wrong. You can decide not to have your name it don't you know! So goin by that is NOt dependable!

Got e-mail from a long time friend of Leon.

Leon is back in Ypsi.

Hopefully looking for a local juco or if not he will go NBDL.

This rumor was a logical leap (IF Leon is doing open then gym at EMU THEN he must be interested in attending school there and playing ball).

We can put this rumor to bed especially as he isn't eligible.

I can absolutely assure you that Garrett will not be on the team this fall nor anytime again for that matter.

Can't imagine Rams putting up with Garrett's baggage not worth the bother. Didn't he have his chance at EMU before and blew it ! Can't teach an old dog new tricks

I believe Garrett would have to do a lot of JUCO academics to get eligible and I don't believe he has done it.

At this point I don't believe D-I is even a possibility.
