I want a MD player to get in the league and flat out dominate..
IE.. MJ and Shaq...
That's why I wanted Chris to stay so he could develope being the man here at MD rather than sitting on the pine in the NBA learning nothing BUT being rich....
I think it really depends on what your motivation is.. Do you want to be the best Basketball player or RICH
The latter comes with the former no matter when you come out the same can't be said in reverse... Prefect example Joe Smith!!! Love him but a basic disappointment at the next level...
I can't blame Chris if someone was dangling millions in face there might not be an end to the things I would do to get it...
But I'm not a 6'10" 250+ black man with excellent basketball skills and huge upside potential either so my window is very limited...
His money would be waiting there for him next year and the Free Agent money could be better if he honed his skills for one more year...
Either way I wish him the best and he will join the list of former Terps I follow in the NBA...

It will make me feel better if Travis Garrison legally changes his name to "Big Lonny Wilcots!".

Hasta luego Wilcox, hasta luego Terps. 1 starter returning is not going to get it done. Who was the last team to win a National Championship one year and after the next season not be ranked? It could happen. Looks like Duke has got a lock on the conference once again. With Duhon, Ewing, Jones, and Dunleavy coming back, dang, Dukies going to win again. Maybe, just maybe, the Heels will develop quickly and compete.

It's too bad to see wilcox leave, but it is probably in his best interests. He will go in the lottery and he will be a good, probably GREAT pro. Although he may have improved next year, Wilcox would have faced much higher expectations and without dixon, mouton, and baxter other defenses would have been able to key in on him a lot more; therefore Wilcox may have struggled and his stock may have dropped. Good luck Chris!

Chris will still dominate whether or not he stayed at Maryland.
Practicing against NBA players will make him better than practicing against Holden and Randle (no offense to them, because they are solid players).
If he doesn't dominate, it wont be because he didn't stay in school. If he does dominate, it wont be because he left.

I agree that Chris is going to develop just as well in the NBA next year as he would have with one more year at Maryland(he wasn't going to stay all four years, that is obvious), except he'll be getting paid for it. He'll have the advantage of the better NBA conditioning and strength programs, and facilities. If he gets drafted by a team where he doesn't need to carry the load right away (just be part of the second team or the regular rotation), then I could see him developing very well and becoming a consistent producer after a year or two.

No GoGo, I really don't think so. We will have a starting five with loads of experience and will have a young, but talented bench. I think Maryland will do very well next season.

Although we've lost 4 starters, I'm confident we can eclipse the 8 win standard next season.

They talked it out. MD may sweep Carolina but its no secret that the games will be much more competitive. Last year, before the games took place everyone already knew who was going to win. That may be different this year. UNC is going to be young but a lot quicker. Quickness does matter. I think Felton and Blake will have a few battles next year. MD may sweep us, but the games will be a whole lot more competitive.

Clubside, it's a little selfish to want Chris to say when he is a possible top 5 pick, definite top 10 right now. You also have no idea what his financial status is. He helped us win the title, and I'm glad. I wish he would have stayed, but I can't blame him in the least for leaving. Neither can I blame Joe Smith. Every scout in the country said he would be the number 1 player taken, and he was. He's been a solid player in the league, and most importantly he is getting a very large paycheck.
