For those of you who still go to NIU, do any of you guys know how the parking works at the rec? I know there are spaces where you can pay, but I was wondering if there are other spaces that require a permit and what color of permit it is. Also, where can I buy these permits and are there any deadlines to buy them. Thanks in advance.

Most of the rec are yellow parking permits......but there are blue permits as well.......brown permits are allowed on the street adjacent to the stadium..........

I dont know if there are pemits for summer, but if you're looking for permits during the fall go to parking services across from the PSYC building on the corner of Normal and Lincoln HW.

There are meter spots and then there are the spots you need a pass for. I believe the parking spots are orange reserved (I think only for dorm residents), then the other side is yellow (commuter) and blue (faculty). You can buy these if you qualify at the parking service building by the parking garage on campus. I don't believe there is a deadline except for the orange reserved spots, which I wanna say are first come first serve.

Parking in these spots after 7pm does not require a pass.

Reserved Rec parking with permits are usually there for people who work at the rec or the dining services at NIU but u can park anywhere at the rec for free after 7pm and anytime during the weekend

Brown permits can park at the rec center after 5pm Monday through Friday.

You purchase them at NIU Parking Services. They're located on the one-way street (going East only) that is immediately North of the large parking garage (and South of Lincoln Hwy). No deadlines to purchase them. They have plenty to sell since the parking lots on campus are probably 90% empty.

With yellow passes you can park at the rec after 4pm M-F.

You can park free from 7pm on Fri-7am Mon

I just walked from my apartments around Busters. Eff paying that money.

why was this thread moved, every part of it had something to do with NIU cause it was something about the Campus, this dosent make any sense to me

Seems to me if you live on campus or near campus(not saying this person does) walking would make sense because that is why you are going there in the first place.
