The Devil's Den is reporting that Shelden Williams will be at Duke next year. Here's the article and the link:

Williams will be at Duke

By: TDD Staff
Date: June 18, 2002

Despite unfounded rumors to the contrary, Shelden Williams will be a Blue Devil next season. In fact he will begin his college career on July 1 in the second session of summer school.

Williams who was accused of taking part in a sexual assault in late January, however no official charges were ever brought. None the less Williams and several teammates were suspended from school and the basketball team for the remainder of the season. This suspension ended up costing Williams a spot in the McDonalds All American Game as well as many other post season honors.

The Greensboro News and Record spoke with Christoph Guttentag, Duke's director of undergraduate admissions, who said that he had met with Williams and was satisfied with the discussions between the two, which cleared the way for Williams' official clearance into Duke.

Guttentag has informed head coach Mike Krzyzewski of the decision to admit the 6-foot-9, 240 pound power forward.

As a Tar Heel, I am not too happy that Shelden was admitted since he is a good player, but from an unbiased standpoint I think it is right decision that Duke allowed him admission.

Although Shelden will be dropping points next year for Duke, it doesn't look like Dunleavy will be. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="smile.gif" />

They had to wait for Dunladys decision. Interesting how this all played out. Little stain on Mikeys credibility apron if you ask me.
