If I was you I'd be tellin' how great Duke was so when they beat you it won't feel so bad. Thugs, low grades whatever, it's the final score that counts and all your teams have had the thugs, dopers, drinkers and dummies long before Duke ever did. It's like the pot callin' the kettle black. It appears it's the way college Bball is now, get used to it. Get real.

Coach Doh, that's exactly my point. For years, Duke BBall has been deemed classier that the other athletics(because of folks like Grant Hill, Battier, and JWill) and of a higher standard than other teams in D1 ball. However, the past few years have shown that the devils have descended to the level of the teams that you claimed to be above for years.

No one here has said a single thing about the actual athletic ability of any of the recruits here, we merely are saying that your precious integrity is no longer as great as many duke fans would have us believe. I'd be the first one to admit that Duke has a strong team of athletes, but their character(as well as coach K's) is what i've come to question.

We've been forced down to that level

I'm not worried about my team crumbling. I'm a Cowboys fan after all, so nothing scares me.

Oh well...at least Duke didn't have an 8-20 season. We did win a few games after all.

You people who try telling me Duke is crumbling are crazy! Bring up all the dirt about the Duke program you can, but I'm sure every other ACC program has done many things worse than those of Duke. Duke runs one of the most classy programs in the NCAA. After the 1992 Elite 8 game vs Kentucky Coach K went into the Kentucky players locker room and congratulated them on a good game and told them not to get down because they just played one of the best games in college basketball history. And Christiensen only went after the ref because Indiana got every ****in call in the 2nd half!

Either you have completely disregarded everything posted prior to your message, or you are a complete twit. This topic has been talking about how Duke may be crumbling, due to some of the things that happened over the past few months. Your classy program is not as classy as it used to be, due to some of the breeches of character that your precious coach K allowed. What happened in 1992 has no bearing on this topic whatsoever, so don't try to bring it here. You want to call duke classy, yet they've accepted players that would make Fresno State fans shudder.

And Christiensen only went after the ref because Indiana got every ****in call in the 2nd half!

Much like Duke got in their game against Notre Dame? Many would say that Duke got a taste of their own medicine after getting so many games like that.

Bring up all the dirt about the Duke program you can, but I'm sure every other ACC program has done many things worse than those of Duke.

Probably not over the span of the past 18 months. Let's see Duke's Rap sheet:

-Two players accused of Drunk Driving, one of which gets teabagged on the campus of a bball rival.
-One player, a devout mormon, loses his cool during a game, and curses at a referee, which is taboo in his religion. He had an intent to assult the referee, but was restrained(emphasis on intent)
-One player is thrown out because of poor academics.
-One player pushes his girlfriend, and is charged with assult.
-One recruit barely qualifies at one of the worst schools in chicago. Despite this, he is accepted.
-Another recruit is recruited , but then accused of gangbanging an ohio woman. Despite this, he is accepted.
-Ah, let's not forget the early departure of the big three of your team.
Classy, indeed.

So Duke was standing high atop a tall pinnacle ALONE with it's classiness until the last couple of months. Apparently it was the LAST of the major players to go down. From what I'm reading here that should be something to be proud of and If you're the last one standing, you win in my book. Are there any programs out there anyone would like to hold up to Duke's? Name a school who has not had a player arrested, name one that hasn't admitted a blue chip player with borderline grades, how about one that hasn't had someone sit out a game or 2 for team rule violations. Duke has their problems but they've held on longer than most and when they do have problems they put them out in the open and don't try to hide them. Everybody can't be Grant Hill or Shane Battier but Coach K will give anybody a chance.........as I said before watch a "crumbling program" kick ass and take names next year. Anybody looking forward to coming to Durham? GO Duke!

Jay copped out, and got his degree in sociology, just to say he got a duke degree. I can't say much for boozer, because i don't know what he wanted to do when he came to duke. When Jay first came to duke, he was considering pre-med. I must say, it's quite a shift, going from that to sociology.

Dunleavy has not graduated yet. Perhaps he was in a 3 year program since he first got there.

It's difficult to graduate from a school in three years, period. I imagine that it would be more difficult for a fine school like duke.

But I think I understand your rationale, as well as theirs. It is a good idea to take the opportunity to make millions, since education isn't going anywhere.

I just don't think that any other team or their fans can handle the fact that the Duke basketball program is solid and isn't going anywhere but up in my lifetime (and I've got alot of it left too). So instead of actually coming up with real reasons to support their outlandish statements, people like hoops13 and Big Pimpin Deac decide to attack Nate instead. Good job guys, I really see that you know about what has been going on in Duke basketball. Go back to your own boards and post about something you know, because I'm bored with coming on here and seeing this overwhelming amount of crap stacked up by Tar Heels fans(if they exist for real), Wake fans(i believe the real term for a wake fan is one who is wasting their life), and Maryland fans(well, can't say much about you guys since you won stuff).

Cheers to natejonesacc, defender of the Duke realm

I probably have at some point, but it wasn't in this thread. If you are going to call me out, be prepared to show facts. I even defend your sorry football program against people who laugh at it because I know how tough it is to play major conference football. I see from your profile that you play soccer, so you obviously aren't tough enough to play football. So you say Deacon fans are wasting their lives. I can't wait for the day when some spineless Duke pansy says that to my face. Also, we actually have more than one sport to cheer for. It's fun. Let me explain this to you. You did not attend Duke University aka Grade Inflation U. You only like them because they win basketball games. You are the loser who is wasting his life by latching on to winning teams in an attempt to feel better about your sorry self. By the way, hoops is right.

TPC - Just flip through the program of almost any college basketball team, and you'll see that the majors of almost all of them aren't exactly what you'd call stellar.

Most basketball players major in easy subjects, Jay and Los just did it faster.
