This year's umpiring
I've been wanting to post this for awhile, but i kept forgetting. Over the past month i haven't seen one perfectly umped game. I'm not talking about the ump having a wide zone, i'm talking about having a consistent zone. I honestly have never seen umpiring this bad in my life. This isn't about the giants getting screwed, because we've been the beneficiary of bad calls plenty of times. I was just wondering if you guys have seen the same pathetic umpiring in your games.

RE: This year's umpiring
Let's see here...
Cleveland lost a game on opening day because with 2 out's Ibanez all of the sudden couldn't see the ball being pitched. This is after the snow let up from the start of the inning. They were one out from the, I think, 5th inning and that would have made the game official.
Now against Baltimore, the umpires rule that a double play had been successfully executed an the player tagging from 3rd did not score in time. 3 INNINGS LATER, the crew chief starts conversating with someone on a phone and then adds that run to Baltimore's score and said that he was correcting an incorrect call... I could understand if they had fixed it right afterwards, but 3innings later? Give me a break. Cleveland appealed the game and lost, of course. Talk about a bunch a crap.
So yeah Swoosh, I have seen some shotty umpiring this year...

You will never see one with those pesky humans doing the umpiring.

wow thanks for that. That brings your total # of useful posts up to 0.
BTW, I'm not asking for 100% perfection. that's obviously impossible. i just want a consistently umped game. Is that good enough for you?

at least you admit it, i have no problem with that. it was the giants, astros. The ump was as could as he could've been. SO was the game, 'cause lowry dominated. His ERA is 2.69.
