Please don't taint the beauty of beer with your misogyny.
Thanks.

I'm thinking Soph would agree.
I haven't had AB in a while.
Had a few La Fin du Mondes last night, though.

Oh and since this is in the spin room. Shouldn't European beers be of less quality because they have thrown God out of their countries?
Or is feminism a far greater power than religion?

I used to leaf through Agenda Credenda when I was in grad school, 12-15 years ago. I volunteered at a Christian bookstore, and they were in Idaho, and sent free issues of their publication to our store in AZ.
Anyway, I really began to dislike Douglas Wilson. He feigns at being a rigorous logician, using sophisticated language that when analyzed contains lots of holes and errors. In fact some of the things he advocates (like women living w/ family of origin until they marry) are quite frightening. I can't understand why RC Sproul and his ministry pays this guy any credence.

not sure, probably has something to do with his very traditional beleifs?
I just think this is an interesting subject and probably has some truth to it, I imagine the percentage of women drinking and getting drunk in the 20th century is huge compared to past centuries, if there was a way to have that stat.
Bourgeois_Rage, had similar thoughts, although I think most of America has thrown God out.....I would say modern feminism is religion though.
In Europe, the churches use to have their own breweries inside of them(some still do), the philosophers and thinkers use to go to the pub and drink beer and talk about philosophy and thought. Many in the South tend to find this sort of stuff hard to beleive.

I think Mr. Merkle needs to learn a bit more about beer before publishing another article on it.

Rates of alcoholism were higher back in the day, and many of them were women. Drinking is not a new phenomenon.
I find it funny that some of you guys like to call whatever you disagree with a new "religion"...

do you have the stats/rates from the dept. of health from 'back in the day'? Women were going out to bars in mass, 'back in the day'? or were most of them at home raising the kids and keeping up the house? and I guess women preferred the rich dark beers 'back in the day' as well, but in 20th century they changed to lighter beer?
nobody ever said 'drinking' was a new phenemonon. abolition was close though.

Agreed, modern feminism is a religion? I'd expect people to explain claims like that.
