Scientology and Me
Some of you may have heard of the conflict going on between the BBC and Scientology. It all stems from a BBC news piece investigating Scientology and the claims that it is a "cult".

The 30 minute news piece

Scientology wanted the BBC to remove the piece saying the reporter showed "gross bias" in his reporting. The BBC, of course, decided to air the piece anyway.

I can understand why the Scientologist wouldn't want this piece to run. It is rather creepy and almost scary, but it is brought on by the Scientologists themselves. I don't understand how they are considered a religion in the United States.

I remember when they came to VT. Their little massage tables out on the drillfield. One of my friends went and got their little "massages" and it wasn't until I read their shirts that I realized who they were. I didn't realize that the BBC had been at Tech filming this.

If you are going to join a fake church at least join a cool one, like the Church of the SubGenius.

It was started as a bet between Heinlein and Hubbard.

Heinlein's Church of All Worlds is a better concept, by the way, but you can't really make money off of it and brainwash people.
