Dang. Not disagreeing with penalizing the #8 team, but dang. Anybody think they came down so hard because it is the #8 team and they didn't want to appear to be playing favorites?

[quote]NASCAR announced that the #8 Chevy team has been penalized and fined for rule violations committed last week at Darlington. The #8 team was found to have violated Sections 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing), 12-4-Q (car, car parts, components and/or equipment used do not conform to NASCAR rules), and 20-3.1.3B (the NASCAR-approved upper and lower rear wing mounting brackets must not be modified to obtain a rear-wing angle of less than zero degrees or more than 16 degrees) of the 2007 NASCAR rule book. Im a Junior fan, but they knew what the rules were. I have been D.Q.'d from a race for a lesser infraction but didnt complain because it clearly states in the rules that what I was doing was illegal. I have to give it to these guys for trying to get away with it though.

I think NASCAR needs to get into a pattern with their penalty enforcements though. they need to put together a system that shows the drivers/teams what they are going to get penalized for in each area of the car that is illegal, this way nobody can complain that their penalty is too harsh when they are busted.

Here are some picture of cars in my class from all over the USA. The class is call IMCA modifieds. http://www.IMCA.com has all the rules from all the different classes that they run. My dad has been racing since the late 70's. hes raced against Mark Martin, and Rusty Wallace. One of his real good friends is Kenny Schrader.

That looks like fun.

Maybe one day when my wife is ready to get rid of me she'll let me take up a hobby like that.
