If we can all agree that faith is NOT a virtue, but a character flaw, I'll consider that an epic win for this thread.

Not gonna happen, Homey. My faith is what keeps me from doing the wrong thing.

By the way, Swag, gathered from numerous topics, you believe in evolution.

Can you prove it?

I'll reiterate what you said for dramatic effect:

Quote:faith (noun)
2 a (1): belief and trust in and loyalty to God (2): belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion b (1): firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2): complete trust

No, he's not. Faith in evolution is a much bigger stretch than faith in God.

Nope. I'm saying he thinks faith is a character flaw, so I want him, as an evolution believer, to prove it.

What is crap about it? I don't know what their economy is down there, but if it a tourism area, I'm sure the Mayor would do whatever it took to make the airport neutral.

Atheisim can not be proved is the thing, they do the same thing they accuse God beleiving types of doing: Circular Logic

1) Assume Materialism is true
2: Dismiss religion by referring to step 1.
3: Repeat ad infinitum

the book I mentioned earlier is a famous Philosophy book that connects the dots in how this came about, known as the "Line of Despair". Its pretty interesting, especially when it gets into the Art and Music part of it.

You are totally missing one of the major points of Christianity. For someone that was "saved & forgiven" from a life of sexual sin, you sure do come down hard on others that are also trapped into the same sort of spiral. What you did and what homosexuals do are no different in God's eyes. They both are are disgusting and seperated the offender from God. I would think that someone such as yourself would be quicker to take the gospel to said offender than just throw them out of the country.

Someone wearing a rag on their head or being homosexual is the same as someone wearing a Christian T-Shirt or a hat with the cross on it. none of those are banned. My point is that this municipality might have a good portion of their economy based on tourism, so the Mayor will go overboard to make sure no one is offended to keep the business coming.

It's a money thing Endzone, not a conspiracy like you believe.

Evolution is based entirely upon the Scientific Method. That means it can and has been rigorously tested. Scientifically speaking, it's not an argument about whether or not evolution takes place. That's already been agreed upon. It's an argument on the finer points how it HAS happened.

Regarding "faith in atheism" ...
I cannot prove the existence of God one way or the other. That's why I am a deist, though I do come off as an atheist. I CAN, however, say with great confidence that the overwhelming majority of people in the world are wrong regarding their religion. They can't all very well be right -- in fact only one can be. I can say, furthermore, that I have a very very VERYYYYYYY hard time believing Christianity, due to the contradictions in words, ethics, and messages in the Bible. Furthermore, the assertions of most of Christianity do NOT jive with my observations of how the World works.

If you don't know HOW something happened, how can you prove that it did happen? Talk about making a leap of faith on that.
