The department of defense is not the department of peace.

It is the department of defense.

The department of state is more closely linked to what Kucinich is talking about -- a department which can coordinate third party peace initiatives in other countries.

I get that you are making the "peace through superior fire power" argument... Regardless of the merits of that position, it doesn't apply to what Kucinich means.
