Duke University should be sued

I think that the Rev & Rev show should volunteer to pick up the fees.

the thug last year

Quote:The Rev. Jesse Jackson said Saturday his Rainbow/Push Coalition will pay the college tuition of a woman who told police she was raped by members of Duke University's men's lacrosse team while working as a stripper -- no matter the outcome of the case.

"I can't wait ... to talk with her and have prayer with her, because our organization is committed, when she's physically and emotionally able ... to provide for her the scholarship money to finish school so she will never ... again have to stoop that low to survive," he said from Chicago in a telephone interview with The Associated Press.

When asked, the civil rights leader also said his group will pay for the woman's tuition even if her report proves false. ...

I think the media needs to be all over Jackson asking him if this is still the case. I beleive jackson is financed in part by US Taxpayers also....

For kicking them out?

Maybe.

Colleges have purposely made themselves institutions that go beyond supplying a service for pay, they institute rules and actions that go beyond performance in the classroom. Additionally, they've tried to position themselves above the free market (that is, creating a "demand" for college graduates so that they can provide the "supply"). Thus if they want to take such a prominent role in people's lives, then yes, they should suffer severe consequences when they mess up.

kicking them out, canceling the Lacrosse season and getting rid of the nationally ranked team altogether. The 88 professors who all said the guys were guilty......it was all one big witch hunt that fit perfectly into their worldview, so in groupthink land it had to be true.

I suppose they may have a right to be stupid, disgraceful fools but their are alot of people at Duke, the DA's office and the national media with alot of Crow to eat. And there are more than just 3 victims here, all the players on the lacrosse team for one, I heard many tried to transfer to other programs like Syracuse and they wouldn't take them....

Good points.

Although it shouldn't be forgotten that many of those players made stupid decisions. That doesn't justify any of the responses they received (especially from the 88 profs, who should seriously be considered for suspension) but it is a reminder that no man is an island, and being dumb can carry consequences.

DrTorch Wrote:So even though evidence, biological evidence no less, strongly indicated that no Duke players were involved, Broverman just says, "We'll just never know." And folks keep insisting that those who teach biology are "scientists"...

Let's see - her research interests from her website are:

Quote:Research Interests: science literacy for non-majors; science education reform; the interaction of gender, education and global health

And her 'recent publications' list contains one paper in the last 10 years - and it's not even a scientific publication.

It looks like she's abandoned doing actual science long ago - it's a good thing, too, as evidently she's completely forgotten even basic biological principles.

anyone seen the ACLU lately? and others that claim to be champions of "Civil Liberties" when it has to do with something national security related as opposed to say, actual racism in which the lives of 3 innoncent civilians have their lives ruined by a prosecutor with political motivations and an incompetent media with a perverted worldview this fit perfectly into?

Nice generalization.

Good to see that this is ending for the players. Nifong ought to get his well deserved consequences. The accuser should be prosecuted for false testimony. It'd be nice to see a civil suit brought as well.

What would they win? A piece of her stripper business?

Couldn't they have hired a good-looking black stripper? I've seen some fine-ass black strippers that would make Vivica Fox look like a dog, why hire that nappy-headed ho? :banned: lmfao
