WrestleMania 23 predictions
Kane vs. The Great Khali
This one will be as ugly as they come. I see this one ending in some kind of double DQ.

WWE Women's championship
Melina vs. Ashley

Eh, Melina probably wins. Making it a "Lumberjill" match makes it a little more interesting, I suppose.

ECW Originals (Rob Van Dam, Tommy Dreamer, Sabu, Sandman) vs. The New Breed (Kevin Thorn, Marcus Cor Von, Matt Striker, Elijah Burke)
A complete throwaway match. The New Breed will win, and nobody will care.

WWE United States championship
Chris Benoit vs. MVP

I would bet that this is the opening match. MVP is a star in the making. He becomes the US champion at WrestleMania.

Money In the Bank
Edge
Randy Orton
Mr. Kennedy
Matt Hardy
Finlay
King Booker
Jeff Hardy
CM Punk

This one will be unbelievable. But the question is, which man do you see lining up for a title push? The past two Money in the Bank winners have gone on to become WWE champions. I'm actually wanting to lean towards a surprise winner in Kennedy, but my gut is telling me Orton wins this one. Edge's perfect streak at WrestleMania will come to an end when a bloodied Orton grabs the briefcase.

Battle of the Billionaires
Bobby Lashley vs. Umaga

Pardon the expression, but there is NO CHANCE IN HELL that McMahon wins this thing. Vinnie Mac will be bald by the end of the night. Oh, and there will be Stone Cold Stunners galore.

World heavyweight championship
Batista vs. Undertaker

I just don't believe that the Taker's WrestleMania streak will be sacrificed to a 40plus year old Batista who won't be around in five years. It's time for the Deadman to have a World title run.

WWE heavyweight championship
John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels

FINALLY, we get the moment we've been waiting for. HBK turned on Cena tonight on Raw and knocked his friggin' head off with Sweet Chin Music. Make no mistake about it. These two will tear the house down, build it up again, and burn that mother to the ground. You will see the performance of a lifetime from HBK, a man who has turned in plenty of great ones. Cena has worked himself to death to get to this spot, and he will shine just as brightly as HBK. It will be a bloody, brutal, beautiful affair....and in the end, Cena will be standing tall. He's the man that is carrying this company, and HBK will put him over in a big way.

There's my predictions for the night.

I'm going 8-0!!!!

Post your predictions here, folks.

Re: WrestleMania 23 predictions
Kane vs. The Great Khali
Agreed. Double DQ.

WWE Women's championship
Melina vs. Ashley

How can anyone lose by watching this match? Couldn't care less about the outcome, I just hope they have plenty of cameras...still, I'll go with Melina. She'll be mad that WWE released Joey Mercury.

ECW Originals (Rob Van Dam, Tommy Dreamer, Sabu, Sandman) vs. The New Breed (Kevin Thorn, Marcus Cor Von, Matt Striker, Elijah Burke)
Old guys give new guys a lesson.

WWE United States championship
Chris Benoit vs. MVP

The Rabid Wolverine Baby!!!!!!!!!

Money In the Bank
Edge
Randy Orton
Mr. Kennedy
Matt Hardy
Finlay
King Booker
Jeff Hardy
CM Punk

Edge has worked his tail off to get this far...he aint done yet!

Battle of the Billionaires
Bobby Lashley vs. Umaga

Vince sees his bald head on the jumbotron with a smiling Stone Cold in the background. As a snarling Vince turns to take his frustration out on the "referee," he gets the bird, then a stunner as Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Donald chug some beer in the middle of the ring.

World heavyweight championship
Batista vs. Undertaker

The Legend lives on...streak intact.

WWE heavyweight championship
John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels

Every time you think it's over, someone will turn it up a notch. In the end, Cena will hoist the Gold!

Now of course, I do reserve the right to change my opinions about any and/or all matches until WrestleMania actually happens.. lol

I'm still torn on several of those, particularly the MITB. Edge definitely is a guy who deserves the win....but I just don't know yet.

The fact about Edge is this. This is the second straight year the guy has been kicked in the nuts at WrestleMania. He had worked his way into the main event picture by the Royal Rumble and was red hot heading into WrestleMania. He was then placed into this side match with Mick Foley out of nowhere.

This year, he is undoubtedly a main event player. He absolutely deserves to be in that WWE title match, even more so than HBK, I would say. But yet, he's placed into a MITB match with about 17 other guys..lol

That's making me believe that Edge may very well come out with the win on Sunday. But I'm not saying that officially...yet.

Re: WrestleMania 23 predictions
Kane vs. The Great Khali
They gave Umaga a "push" by having him beat Kane. I expect them to do the same with Khali. I pick Khali.

WWE Women's championship
Melina vs. Ashley

There will be a lot of fake boobies flying around, but you have to admit Melina has done a decent job taking up the women's wrestling slack ince Tish lleft.

ECW Originals (Rob Van Dam, Tommy Dreamer, Sabu, Sandman) vs. The New Breed (Kevin Thorn, Marcus Cor Von, Matt Striker, Elijah Burke)
I have tried to watch ECW and it just isn't working for me. I could care less who wins this match.

WWE United States championship
Chris Benoit vs. MVP

I am pulling for the Wolverine baby!!! MVP isn't there yet IMO.

Money In the Bank
Edge
Randy Orton
Mr. Kennedy
Matt Hardy
Finlay
King Booker
Jeff Hardy
CM Punk

Edge proved last night he was the only one in the group who cold handle a promo. They need to do right by him and have him come down with the contract.

Battle of the Billionaires
Bobby Lashley vs. Umaga

Vince will be bald at the end of this one.

World heavyweight championship
Batista vs. Undertaker

The Deadman kick the crap out of Batista.

WWE heavyweight championship
John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels

John Cena has earned my respect these last few weeks. He has obviously been learning a lot from his time with Michaels. His promos and interviews have been outstanding and he has shown that he deserves his time spent in the limelight. However, I think The Showstopper has one more title run in him. So I am picking Shawn Michaels to take this one.

I went with my heart on a couple of those. I will have to ask my wife for permisssion to buy Wrestlemania on unday.

Note: HornLakeTiger, any of your comments that I kept will appear in italics

Kane vs. The Great Khali

The Great Khili needs this more than Kane.
Winner: The Great Khili

---
WWE Women's championship
Melina vs. Ashley
Lumberjill stip means Ashley will win, but lose the title Monday Night Raw the next night.

Winner(s): Ashley and all males 18-34 -- well, and me (@ age 38).

Agreed.

---
WWE United States Championship
Chris Benoit vs. MVP

I would bet that this is the opening match. MVP is a star in the making. He becomes the US champion at WrestleMania.

Agreed

---
Money In the Bank
Edge
Randy Orton
Mr. Kennedy
Matt Hardy
Finlay
King Booker
Jeff Hardy
CM Punk

My thoughts: Edge doesn't need a push, as he's WAY over. Randy Orton would seem the obvious but no way in hell will the WWE let him sniff a title shot while this 'Roids stuff is hanging over his head. I'm picking Kennedy, and I'll explain why when we get to Taker v. Batista (below).

Winner: Kennedy

---
Battle of the Billionaires
Bobby Lashley vs. Umaga

The winner of this match was given away last night on Raw when VinnieMac went over Lashley.

Winner and a continued push: Bobby Lashley
Loser and shaved head: Vincent K. McMahon
O/U on the # of Stone Cold Stunners: 3 (gimme the "over")

---
World Heavyweight Championship
Batista vs. Undertaker

I just don't believe that the Taker's WrestleMania streak will be sacrificed to a 40plus year old Batista who won't be around in five years. It's time for the Deadman to have a World title run.

I agree that the Deadman's streak will continue, BUT, I don't think he will or needs to have a run as "World Heavyweight Champion". The guy who NEEDS the rub is Kennedy. Taker wins here only to transition to Kennedy at the next applicable PPV.

Winner and NEW "World's Heavyweight Champion": Undertaker.

---
WWE Heavyweight Championship
John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels
FINALLY, we get the moment we've been waiting for. HBK turned on Cena tonight on Raw and knocked his friggin' head off with Sweet Chin Music. Make no mistake about it. He's the man that is carrying this company, and HBK will put him over in a big way.

Everything you said is right on the money about this match.

I am STILL so torn on the MITB match.

Edge, Kennedy, and Orton are most definitely the most obvious choices.

Like I said in my first post, I was originally leaning towards Kennedy. An Undertaker-Kennedy feud for the World title would make a lot of sense.

Still torn, still torn.....

Kane vs. The Great Khali
Seems like Khali is going to get the win here becoming the next Umaga.

WWE Women's championship
Melina vs. Ashley

Ashley should win this. They ALWAYS seem to give a push for the Playboy Cover Girl.

ECW Originals (Rob Van Dam, Tommy Dreamer, Sabu, Sandman) vs. The New Breed (Kevin Thorn, Marcus Cor Von, Matt Striker, Elijah Burke)
I expect a lot of objects in this match. I agree that it'll be a complete throwaway match. The New Breed will win, and Vince will once again screw the original ECW guys.

WWE United States championship
Chris Benoit vs. MVP

I agree that MVP is a star in the making. But I think Benoit wins, with the rematch coming at another PPV where MVP wins. I can't imagine Benoit losing at WM.

Money In the Bank
Edge
Randy Orton
Mr. Kennedy
Matt Hardy
Finlay
King Booker
Jeff Hardy
CM Punk

My top three to win the match are Edge, Orton and Kennedy. It should be a great match with all the other wrestlers listed. Has the potential to steal the show. Honestly, I believe Edge will win over Orton. Causing Orton to turn face and have WWE build a feud over the #1 contract at other PPV's.

Battle of the Billionaires
Bobby Lashley vs. Umaga

There is no way Trump is getting his head shaved. I would be very suprised if he signed on to do this match to get his head shaved. Agree with everyone that McMahon will leave Detroit bald and there will be a lot of Stone Cold Stunners.

World heavyweight championship
Batista vs. Undertaker

Undertaker will win, or there just may be a riot. Thats all I have to say about this match.

WWE heavyweight championship
John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels

The Sweet Chin kick was placed at the right time. This match turned from a dud to something to watch since it was announced. Personally I would like HBK to win since I am a Cena hater. But I could see Cena winning since he is the business right now.

This is going to be great. I'm glad I got tickets and am going to see this live. Have fun watching it guys! 04-rock

Melina defeats Ashely - retains title

ECW Originals defeat the New Breed

Great Khali defeats Kane

Chris Benoit defeats MVP - retains title

Edge wins Money in the Bank Ladder Match - leading to a feud with Randy Orton over the contract later

Bobby Lashley defeats Umaga, Vince looses his hair (so obvious prediction, by the way, I still think JBL would have been a better choice to represent Vince)

Shawn Michaels defeats John Cena - New WWE Champion

The Undertaker defeats Batista - New World Heavywieght Champion

You know, I stated in another thread that I thought HBK would win a title so they could give "DX" something to do until The Game returns. This just might go to Shawn.

I went an embarrassing 4-4.

I correctly picked Melina, Cena, Undertaker, and Lashley.

Man, I just freaking KNEW that Kennedy was gonna win that Money in the Bank, but didn't change the prediction in time.

And yes, Kennedy WILL be the man to take the World title off the Undertaker.

More likely in a triple threat match including Batista probably at SummerSlam.

Why would Kennedy/WWE writers agree with that?! Thats a waste of the money in the bank, he can use it any time he wishes!

I expect an actual main event at a PPV (ie RVD) or coming out after a grueling match (ie Edge)

I went 5-3 on my predictions.

Wins: Benoit, Khali, Lashley, Undertaker and Cena

Losses: Kennedy, Malina, ECW Originals

I could have been 6-2 if plans didn't change... http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/2007/art...467722.php

I just don't see WWE writers having Kennedy pinning the Undertaker in a one-on-one match to win it. Kennedy has never really pinned anyone on his own for "big wins", but by count-outs or disqualifications. There has to be some stipulation for he can win it, maybe pinning someone else. Mark Henry will be back soon as well probably pushed up for a #1 contender.

Man, I would have been 7-1.. and my reasoning for Melina losing was correct -- she's not popular backstage.
