... according to the <a href="http://www.journalnow.com/wsj/sports/MGB114YYN2D.html" target="_blank">Journal</a>.

Isn't this the same guy who tore up Virginia (and probably us) last year?

Sorry if this has already been posted....

That's him alright. Virginia was by far his best game. He had about 150+ yards and two touchdowns while Tarence Williams was out with an ankle injury. The only good thing is, he played as a true freshman in 2000 and can use this year to redshirt. Other than that, this just sucks.

I watched the UVa game -- and he just tore them up....

The article also says something about Tarence Williams possibly breaking his foot on Tuesday. I didn't remember Williams like I did Staton, but apparently he led the team in rushing yards last year.

So hopefully if Tarence does have a break in his foot, we'll be able to get it fixed and get him ready to go by the season.</font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Does anyone know anything more about that?

Tarence Williams is the little guy, about 5'9" and 170 lbs., and by far our best running back. He hurt his ankle last year against Clemson and has since been reinjuring it. I think this is the same wheel. If not, we may be starting a redshirt freshman named Cornelius Birgs, who is pretty good from what I have seen. Ironically, if there is one position where we have some depth, it is running back.

Tarence Williams is the guy who tore UNC last year, not Staton. So Sorry JD_Heel, you can get away from that one.

Actually they both had big games against Carolina last year. If you remember, Tarence got hurt in the Clemson game. Then, didn't play at all in the UVa game. Then, played the second half against Carolina.

It had been awhile since someone had posted on this forum and I found some post-worthy news.

FWIW, I would've liked to have faced both running backs (and anyone else in Wake's arsenal) this next year....
