oooh....I'd love to see Tesla again. One of the few 80's bands that wasn't glam and hairspray and actually made music.

Sadly, I don't think I'll be able to attend. *sigh* Thanks for the heads up though. But I did see the Heartless Bastards on Friday. They put on a free show downtown. Friggin awesome. It's my fourth time seeing them. All was able to drag about 4 friends to the show, and they loved it. Which is surprising, because they hate about 95% of what I listen to. We were about 3 feet away from them.

Where abouts and when? Because my cousin who goes to school in Milwaukee wants to go see a show there or in Chicago. I know Bloc Party is playing Chicago 9/7, was thinking about going to that.

Thats always a good one.

I'm going to try and make it over to Fitzgeralds for the last day of the American Music Festival on Tuesday after I get out of work. They always have a great lineup. I drove down Roosevelt with my windows down yesterday and the music sounded great.

RE: Concerts
A first for me. I had to decide on which show I wask going to see!! The Pony's or Ra Ra Riot. Decided on Ra Ra. Hadn't been to the venue before, and it was pretty damn alright for $5. Of course the Pony's show was somehow only $8. Good time. Got to drag a few buddies along. On Friday, I'll be seeing Maria Taylor, whom I adore sooo much. Also Jimmy Eat World is plyaing! Yay! J/k, they are playing, and I've heard they actually have talent, but I won't be sticking around. I can't go from Maria to anyone else. Sooo excited!!

RE: Concerts
And Maria Taylor only played for 30 minutes. I talked to her (was very nervous) afterwards and she said that's all the time they were alloted for being the opener for Jimmy Eat World. She said she might be back in town in a few months! Yay!!! Her set even started a half hour earlier than the sceduled time and Jimmy Eat World wouldn't be coming on for another hour or so. Boo! Apparently there are Jimmy Eat World fans. The place was sold out, but most of them skipped Maria Taylor. She's awesome.

Maria Taylor and Jimmy Eat World (oops tried to abrieviate that...doesn't quite work) doesn't seem like a good match. How did that bill get put together? I thought opening for Bright Eyes was a better pairing for her.

That's a good question, and I meant to ask her that, but I was too damn nervous and basically forgot most of what I wanted to say. 01-lauramac2 She's on Saddle Creek, so that does make a whole hell lot of sense. And that would be a damn fine show. Though I'd kill for an Azure Ray show.

RE: Concerts
Saw Matt & Kim, the Hold Steady, and Ted Leo & the Pharmacists last night. The event was poorly poorly organized and the sound was waay too loud. The music repeated in between sets, and there was no reentry. The entire event lasted from 2-12. Other than that, I had a great time. Matt & Kim were awesome. You can tell they always have a lot of fun, always have smiles on their faces. Hold Steady were good, but seemed to be missing something. The set list was good, as was their energy. I dunno. Not real real familar with Ted Leo save for one album, but I thought they were good, though I couldn't hear his voice to well.

I went and saw Will Hoge last night. Pretty good show, but there were only about 50 people there. I don't mind that though as it is like having your own personal show.

If you like Ray LaMontagne you might like Will Hoge. They both have similar voices, but Will rocks out a little more.
