When I saw that I couldn't believe the final results .I must admit that UNC is women's college soccer just like Tennessee and Connecticut are for women's basketball. I am a big time Mia Hamm fan. Just had to throw that in there.

I'm not gloating when I say this, but we are beyond UConn or Tennessee in women's basketball. There's no college dynasty like us ours in women's soccer.

That said, the dynasty may be coming to an end.

When it comes to UNC soccer no other women's program can claim as much success as the Tarheels. I don't have enough fingers to count the number of NCAA titles(16 I believe) UNC has won in women's soccer!! So many
First Team All-Americans year after year and Olympians and World Cup participants!! I believe the UNC men recently won a NCAA title for soccer.

Yeah, we won last year -- but sadly, the women didn't. The guys are taking a few lumps this year (as are the women with the loss to State)... but they both still appear to be very good teams with postseason implications. The women appear to have a much better shot than the men, like usual.

I believe Santa Clara won last year, which suprised me because I thought Portland or UNC would win. I always watch the Final Four for women's soccer on ESPN and Fox Sports Net use to show ACC games on the West Coast but they don't do that anymore. So to stay updated I have to visit the UNC athletics page or hear by word of mouth which is cool with me.

The title won by the men suprised me because I always here about St. John's, UCONN, Virginia, and Indiana for men's soccer.

The women have a great shot to win the title this year despite the lost to State. I know a win over UNC for the Wolfpack though helps as a confidence booster but they ladies in Raleigh need to keep producing. Should be another exciting year in women's soccer.
