JCS unanimous in not sending in more troops.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/con...77_pf.html

We are out of options. Bush wants to break the military for his own ego. 75% of combat battalions deemed not ready for deployment. Republicans never would of let the military slip this far under a Democratic president. Could you imagine the subpoenas and congressional investigations if Clinton was in charge of this debacle? It's a shame.

I can only find one article and that says 2 of the ten divisions are not combat ready. The article I read last week dealt with 75% are not deignated at the highest strength because so much of the equipment is in disrepair. The article talked about some place in Va. that acts like th junkyard for the Army. This place is like 60 acres. It's chuck full of Abrhams, Stryker, and other various vehicles and helicopters. I think it was in Time magazine. I'll keep looking. If I don't find it today I won't be back on til after the New Year. I'm taking the family down to Marco Island in Fl. I'll be doing some other things besides posting. Take Care. Happy Holidays to all/

2/10 = 20%. Hardly the 75% you proclaim.

Dogger, don't get into this battle with me. You will lose.

1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 10th Mountain, 25th, 1st Cav, 101st Airborne(Air Assault), 82d Airborne....and I can't think of another, that's 9, but all are deployable-ready.

That place you're talking about, have you ever considered it may be like Tobyhanna? Pretty much a bigass 3 shop that repairs vehicles? Well, damn. Heaven's Forbid we maintain our vehicles.

The point was made in the article that 75% of our divisions are not fully functioning because so many vehicles need repaired. They are basically just rotating vehicles now. The other divisions on leave couldn't be mobilized because their equipment is being used by another division. I can't link the article out of Time because you need to subscribe to the magazine to download the article. I read it when I was getting my haircut last week.

Hey Merry Christmas. See you next year.

Oh, well, I read somewhere where this chick had a baby by an alien.

I was at Great Clips getting my hair cut as well, so it must be true.

Great Clips? Could you go to a more right wing fortress of haircuttery? If you want the real story, you must go to BoRics.

I actually agree with Bush on this point. I agree that we didn't send in enough on the initial invasion, but what's done is done.

Now we can get things done and clean up the mess we made and stop playing monday morning quarterback and focus on how to achieve victory. If it takes more troops and my sister in law being over there some more so be it.
