theres lots of crazy sh*t going on in darfur right now, much of it government supported. if we truly are the worlds police force, why arent we sending troops over there?
Good question. Maybe you could refer us to the Democratic efforts to intervene in Darfur that were thwarted by the Republicans.
Better yet, now that the Dems control Congress, I guess we can expect immediate action. which Congressman or Senator do you think will spearhead the movement to intervene? Clinton? Obama? Do you think they will both run for president in '08 on a platform of more intervention as the world's policeman?
One word: Ruanda.

im wasnt trying to make this into a dem/repub argument. i was just asking why one country's people warrants our attention, and another, in a possibly worse situation, dosent.

What in the hell are we going to do?
Why is it that Dems just want to *****, moan and wring their hands?
If we have any problem it's that public school teachers tend toward the political left. No wonder europeans think we're stupid, and the rest of the world tries to take advantage of us.

I'm assuming you meant Rwanda. And anybody who wants to win in '08 had best not have any ideas about nation building or being the world's policeman, social worker, etc. etc.
Clinton sat back and let the genocide happen in Rwanda just like we are currently doing in the Sudan. However, did all of the "freedom fighters" on here support Clinton's efforts to stop the genocide in Kosovo, or were your thoughts more along the lines of.....
"President Clinton is once again releasing American military might on a foreign country with an ill-defined objective and no exit strategy. He has yet to tell the Congress how much this operation will cost. And he has not informed our nation's armed forces about how long they will be away from home. These strikes do not make for a sound foreign policy."
-Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA)
"If we are going to commit American troops, we must be certain they have a clear mission, an achievable goal and an exit strategy."
-Karen Hughes, speaking on behalf of presidential candidate George W. Bush
"It is a remarkable spectacle to see the Clinton Administration and NATO taking over from the Soviet Union the role of sponsoring "wars of national liberation."
-Representative Helen Chenoweth (R-ID)

After 34 years of living on 40 acres in the country, and being a country boy to start with, I may in my "golden" years try the urban thing for the first time. The city has grown out to me, and soon I will have to sell because of the taxes. One option I am thinking of trying is a condo in a high rise in downtown Fort Worth. I'm sure that is still a far cry from urban living in chicago, but it is quite a Change for me. Imagine all the new things I can experience - neighbors, assigned parking spaces, garbage pickup, who-knows-what. Also, book stores, restaurants, cinemas, all within walking distance. Noisy crowds instead of howling coyotes. Not sure what I will do. I have a year, at most two, then I will have to go. But for now, I can still take my coffee on the back patio, and if I'm lucky, watch a deer or a flock of wild turkeys wander by.

Schools are a product of their immediate community. Conservative districts hire conservative teachers. 90% of the teachers I work with vote Red. Straight ticket types. They don't think for themselves and are a bunch of sheep. It's amazing.

Lemme guess, if they were liberal they WOULD think for themselves, right? Yeah, I think we can see who the "Sheep" is here.
BTW, I live in a conservative area, Augusta, Ga., and have many, many friends that are teachers. I don't think any were asked about their politics when they were hired.

I've voted for Republicans before. I voted for the dog catcher who had an R next to her name. A guy I coached with ran for county commisioner, he was Republican.
But the important stuff..... like president, senator.............. you have to go with the D my man. ;-) You see where Republicans get ya. In debt, downsized, and in more danger.

Ok, I can't stop laughing at your post right now. Especially in light of your new house leader saying Al Qaeda isn't in Iraq.

Are they the ones that should live? I don't get you libs. You DON'T have to fight if you don't want to. This isn't Vietnam, where you would have an argument. Troops don't need you protecting them. This isn't an enemy like Vietnam that will be happy once the South is in their control. They want TOTAL control and will follow us here to achieve that goal. THIS, Dogger, is why you guys are morons when it comes to national defense. There WILL be another attack on this country, and I pray that the anger is taken out on liberal policies. ...because they don't work. We are facing an enemy that wants total domination and servitude and we don't have one Neville Chamberlain, we have an entire damn party of'em.
lmfao lmfao This is a joke right? Please tell me this is a joke.

Yes, obviously you do know because you are one of those fanatics. Just a different religion.
