Not so fast on Pelosi
I think Murtha just might be our next speaker. Remember the Midwest and Northeast is where the blue tsunami hit. It lost steam in the south and the West. Murtha will get the Indiana, Ohio, and Pa. pickups.

If you are a Democrat and truly interested in continuing your momentum going into 2008 then the best thing you could do is elect a more moderate Speaker of the House.
Pelosi does not even represent most Democrats much less most Americans.

I agree, and I think this victory has alot more to do with Emmanuel and Murtha than Pelosi. You know where I would like to see some of our conversations evolve is how you see things play out. What I am now trying to do is not look at people who have an opposing view on here and try to switch them, argue my point.
I have a very hard time voting for anyone who is a Republican and I suspect that is how many of you feel about Democrats. I always look with suspicion on someone with a ® next to their name. So instead of arguing to no avail let's elevate the discussion to see how you think the other side will play their hand. I don't know but we'll see how it turns out. I will try my best to stop attacking people though.

I look at all politicians with suspicion. At the end of the day I measure up who will best represent the interest of me and my family. At this point in time that is Republicans. My personal leanings are more Libertarian but for me to vote for a Democrat would be like a chicken voting for Col. Sanders.
Now if the Democrat party could return to its roots pre 1960's then I would be perfectly willing to revisit my vote.
As of now when they play the class warfare card they are calling me out and wanting me to pony up more taxes. I feel like I pay plenty of taxes and also feel I have earned the right to keep more of my hard earned money.
I am an easy target because I am in the minority like other tax payers with high household incomes. Make no mistake though that we are an important part of the economic engine. Simply taking more money from us is not going to solve problems and it takes a lot of money out of circulation from the U.S. economy.

Wouldn't it be funny if the Murtha crowd and the Pelosi crowd stuck to their guns, and Hastert won the Speaker seat? lmfao

Agreed, but lets not get ahead of ourselves. Two states may still be up for grabs.
