....and none have expressed interest to wipe out another country. UAE is running out of oil. It is said that Dubai is to be the Pearl of the Persian with the numerous projects like the World Project, and numerous other man-made island ventures. This is about energy for them. They HAVE to do things like this to survive. Why is it that you can't understand this? Too liberal?

Dubai is like a mirage. The development going on over there blows my mind. I dont think the amount of money being poured into that country has ever been seen before in the history of man. Theres not even anyone to live in all the stuff theyre building. Its gonna be like Blade Runner over there. If you're curious where that money at the pump is going...

...because they know their cash crop, oil, is running out. They want to become a resort destination for the world. Kinda like when DPW was trying to take control of port operations. They have a history of safety. Why on Earth would they allow something to happen in one of our major ports that they control? It would kill their image. They control ports all over the world. The last thing they want to be known as is incompetent. They already have to battle the prejudices because they are Arab. Hell, I'd love to visit. I've been to Bahrain, but never Dubai. I can tell you, it's probably going to be the safest place in the Arab world for Americans, aside from Iraqi Kurdistan.

Kinda OT, but some of the stuff they built or are building in Dubai is amazing. An INDOOR SNOW SKI SLOPE - in the DESERT - for example. It is already home to the tallest hotel in the world - the Burj al arab - and they are currently constructing the tallest building in the WORLD as well - Burj Dubai - which will still be taller than the new WTC/Freedom Tower. I'd love to see that place!

Dubai is a neat place; I was there about 7 years ago.

The UAE seems to realize that they need a plan for when all the oil runs out, and they are poisitioning themselves to be a phenomenal economic and tourist hub.
