John Kerry's comments
Article

Ok, am I the only one that thinks Kerry is playing this all wrong? His response, instead of being "tough" is coming across as a somewhat childish and unhinged. By attacking others because he made a stupid mistake he keeps the story going. The issue will probably take over the next 2 news cycles, which leaves Friday and Monday as the last real days to impact voters since no one watches the news on weekends.

My suggestion would have been to say something to the effect of,
"I have the deepest respect for our fighting men and women and would never insult them in the manner that's being attributed to me. My comment was a failed attempt at a joke that came out totally wrong." and then left it at that. Instead he's calling names, attacking everyone under the sun and coming across like a pompous ego maniac.

Wow. There's no way anyone is going to believe that's a botched joke against Bush.

Thank goodness he didn't become president...

Now you see why I expect the Reps to maintain control of the House and Senate. The Dems are ran by idiots. I know that is a Fox story so they will put a conservative slant on the story, but still the Dems are ran by idiots. I am thinking about voting Libertarian (I can't be a Boortz Libertarian though because they seem to be too close to Republicans...nice to see you posting again Kev ;-) ).

You can always vote for Kinky, Mump. It solves the Gov's race, but not the national elections...

I didn't vote for the Kinkster, but I sure enjoyed his campaign. My favorite line:

He rode in a St pat's day parade in a convertible with his cigar and a beer. When some bluenoses pointed out that was in violation of the state's open container law, he responded " I sipped, but I did not swallow".

Unfortunately yes. Just like Dole was the best the republicans could come up with in 96'.

Kerry is an idiot. He has not apologized for the botched joke and needs to lay low until the new year.

What was wrong with Dole? I voted for Perot, but not because there was anything wrong with Dole, who, WAS actually a war hero.

Face it, as long as Kerry is in the spotlight for Dems, you will never have anything over marginal support from the military. They can try to spin the words that he said the other day all they want but they cannot spin his 30+ years of a blatant contempt for anything military.

Quote:.....And no pair has been more wrong, more loudly, more often than the two Senators from Massachusetts, Ted Kennedy and John Kerry.

Together, Kennedy/Kerry have opposed the very weapons systems that won the Cold War and that are now winning the war on terror.

Listing all the weapon systems that Senator Kerry tried his best to shut down sounds like an auctioneer selling off our national security. But Americans need to know the facts.

The B-1 bomber, that Senator Kerry opposed, dropped 40% of the bombs in the first six months of [Operation] Enduring Freedom.

The B-2 bomber, that Senator Kerry opposed, delivered air strikes against the Taliban in Afghanistan and Hussein's command post in Iraq.

The F-14A Tomcats, that Senator Kerry opposed, shot down Khadifi's Libyan MIGs over the Gulf of Sidra.

The modernized F-14D, that Senator Kerry opposed, delivered missile strikes against Tora Bora.

The Apache helicopter, that Senator Kerry opposed, took out those Republican Guard tanks in Kuwait in the Gulf War.

The F-15 Eagles, that Senator Kerry opposed, flew cover over our Nation's Capital and this very city after 9/11.

I could go on and on and on: Against the Patriot Missile that shot down Saddam Hussein's scud missiles over Israel; against the Aegis air-defense cruiser; against the Strategic Defense Initiative; against the Trident missile -- against, against, against.

This is -- This is the man who wants to be the Commander in Chief of our U.S. Armed Forces?!

U.S. forces armed with what? Spitballs?!

~~~~~ Zell Miller, D-Ga., Former Governor, Sentator and U.S. Marine, Delivering Speech at the Republican National Convention in 2004.
