Nobody else wants to offer any predictions? We could check back on this later on during the tourney, like we did a couple years ago. That'd be swell.

Mmmkay.

How are your Bearcats gonna do this year? You don't have much talent coming back but I did like the hiring of Mick Cronin.

We have exactly one contributor coming back. But the newcomers have us hoping for an NIT appearance at best. And yes, hopefully Mick's rep as a recruiter and coach pay off.

you guys are picking the best 8 teams for the elite 8. do you honestly think that's what it's gonna look like? it never goes down like that, especially now.

Texas A&M and Villanova aren't being picked in the top 8 in the preseason, but you're right, there's always one or two who we don't expect that will make it. I made my picks off the top of my head anyway. I'll probably edit them later.

Your picks?

i don't think i can make picks. i mean i know a little about college b-ball, but not nearly as much as everyone else in this thread.

though i do think carolina is gonna be beastly. Hansbrough combined with that awesome incoming class is gonna make for a good team. not to mention roy is a great coach, even though his players are paid like mad (check out Kansas' recent loss of a ship). I don't know anything else about the ACC, but i do know a decent amount about the Big east. I'd have to say it's gonna be a weak conference this year owing to the fact that WVU lost it's entire team, i think Nova lost their 3 best players, same with uconn. Georgetown is gonna be really good. They have everyone coming back, and their coach is really good.

15 wins max and an NIT birth, hopefully. That would be better than most would have though 5 months ago.

Looks like you don't know much about anything.

i didn't say other coaches don't do it. i'm sure SJU does it. I'm sure K does it. Same with olsen, izzo, boeheim, definitely calhoun, etc. if you don't think they do, then i feel bad for you.Do you think what happened at Kansas was an isolated incident?

you should read what pat forde just wrote: http://=http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/c...ge B-ball?

I like when he says "Now, fans of every school on this list will undoubtedly rationalize their way out of past sins while eagerly pointing the finger at their rivals." Sound familiar? But i guess Pat Forde is making this stuff up, because surely he knows less about his area of expertise than rickheel, right?

You are the one who brought up the example of Roy at Kansas. Players paid like mad? Two kids got $500 for graduation gifts. After their eligibility was up. That is getting paid like mad? LOL!!! BTW, he checked with the compliance folks who told him it was OK. Like I said, you dont know what you are talking about, as is usually the case. If you want to bring proof of anything be my guest. I doubt you can. Until then, you should keep your pie hole shut.

where there's smoke there's fire. If you think the rich chapel hill boosters don't throw tons of money towards getting guys like Lawson to pick their school over other big programs, you're blind.
