Johnson's been pitching well. Seven earned runs in 19 innings in his last three starts. Did get roughed up in his first start in August.

the mets? i wasn't aware that they had a rotation. umm, other than pedro (when healthy) who's better than anyone we have? maybe the 3 stooges who comprise the back of that rotation.
I think head to head, our rotation is better than the dodgers.

Although it took a hit tonight with us beating the hell out of Schmidt. ;-)

Linecum certainly looks like a stud, he is dominating in high a. Should be up sometime in the middle of next year.

Schmidt's still a stud. I wouldn't mind seeing the Braves make a play for him this offseason. Maybe a one or two year deal.

the problem with him is, he's injury prone, he has no guts and while he's a very good pitcher, he's not quite what he was before that groin injury 2 years ago. also, if he has a good september, he's gonna demand at least 4 years, 52 mil.

Any team that gives him 4/52 is absurd. I'd give him that much for one or two years, maybe, but not four. Then again, I guess when a guy like A.J. Burnett who's done absolutely nothing substantial in the majors can get a big contract, a guy who's actually accomplished something like Schmidt should be able to get a king's ransom.

you'd be hard pressed to find a pitcher who'd take a one or two year deal.
