Jered Weaver
Seven starts, seven wins. First guy since Valenzuela in 1981 to start a career like that.
My God, how do you possibly choose between Weaver, Liriano, Papelbon and Verlander for AL ROY?

I foresee the AL dominating for years. That is an insane amount of young pitching talent, then you can throw in Erik Bedard, King Felix, Jeremy Sowers. Incredible.
Who here thinks Papelbon will get moved back to the rotation when/if the Sox find a capable closer? He was an dynamic starter before he made the switch.

I could see it since they've got guys like Hansen and Delcarmen waiting in the wings, but Papelbon's been so unbelievable, how can you take him out of that role?

speaking of young relievers, i thought will startup was supposed to be so good? his stuff is weak. he gets hitters out because of an insanely flukey motion.

He doesn't project to be a closer in the major leagues. But with that deceptive delivery and a plus changeup, he could be a solid LOOGY.
