The #5 Wake Forest baseball team staged another late game rally, coming from behind to defeat Virginia on Saturday night 4-3 at newly dedicated Davenport Field in Charlottesville.

The Deacons (27-6, 10-3 ACC) did not hold a lead in the game until it mattered, the ninth inning. Wake Forest trailed 3-2 until the eighth when Adam Bourassa's double down the left field line scored Ryan Hubbard from first base.

The winning run came across in the ninth. Ryan Braun led off with a walk. After Stephen Ghutzman flied out, Braun stole second base, the first stolen base of his career. Moments later, Braun scored on Jeff Ruziecki's single to center field.

It was the sixth time this year Wake Forest has trailed after seven innings and fought back to win.

Dave Bush (5-1) picked up the victory for 1.1 innings of work but the Wake Forest defense gave Virginia two extra chances to tie or win in the ninth.

With two out and a runner on first, Ben Ingold dropped a high infield pop-up, putting runners on the corners. On the next hitter, the Deacon infield got the runner on third in a rundown between third and home but failed to record the out. But Bush got Rob Newton to fly out to right field to end the game.

Bush entered the game in the eighth in relief of starter Seth Hill who was effective in 7.2 innings allowing three runs, two earned, on seven hits with five strikeouts and no walks.

Offensively, Adam Bourassa continued his outstanding weekend, going 4-for-5 at the plate with a pair of doubles and a stolen base. Steve LeFaivre drove in a pair of runs with an RBI double in the fifth. Nick Blue reached base four times, adding three walks to a single.

The Deacons will look for the sweep tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Ryan Braun, the winning run in Saturday's game, will make his first start of the season on the mound in Sunday's game.
