Marine's mom wants war protesters to quit using son's name
A Lafayette mom is asking the Louisiana state legislature to enact a law that would ban anti-war protesters from using fallen soldiers names in protests. I really do hope she wins so people like Cindy Sheehan can shut the hell up!

Marine mom fights use of son's name

One Lafayette mother is spearheading an effort to get state lawmakers to enact legislation that would prevent war opponents from using the names of fallen soldiers in anti-war protests.

Yvette Burridge's son, Marine Pfc. David Burridge, was killed by a suicide bomber in Iraq in September 2004. Now, his mother said his name is being used as an example by those who oppose President Bush and the war.

At a Saturday meeting of the support group Louisiana Marine Mothers, Burridge presented images from a Web site, http://www.carryabigsticker.com, which sells a T-shirt that lists the names of more than 1,700 soldiers who have been killed in action with the words "Bush Lied" and "They Died" emblazoned underneath the names.

Since Cindy Sheehan is protesting in the name of her son, I think it's a different situation than picking some random name of a soldier that was killed in theatre.

I think that is a great idea. Those who want to drag the memory of their child through the mud (i.e. Cindy) can, those who don't, shouldn't have to listen to others bad mouth what their child did for their country.

There were a lot of incidents at Camp Cindy regarding the crosses with soldier's names. Many times family members arrived wanting to take down the cross with their son's/brother's name. Uniformly they were harrassed and threatened. I recall vividly the article in the paper recounting one mother/daughter that were surrounded by compassionate liberals shouting things like "Your son was a murderer" and "aren't you happy now?". They wer physically intimidated also. There was another case where one vereran went to take down his son's name and they physically attacked him. Another man was barred from taking down his son's name and ended up running down the cross with his truck. I heard and read first hand reports from people that were there. Google them. You can find them too.

I don't think they should be using those names without permission.

As a former NCO in the Army, I have a problem with her using her own son's name. I'm sorry, but he went in on his own accord. He felt the need to serve his country. Cut the GDamn unbilical, lady. He was a grown man and had more integrity in his pinky than you have in your entire body. You are NOT serving his wishes and you DAMN sure aren't honoring his memory. You are a selfish beeyatch who is TOTALLY ignoring his wishes and using his death to further YOUR agenda.

Yes, I have a GDamn problem with this bit-ch using him, and any other servicemember to get her message out.
