Uh, right.

Quote:Many modern historians dismiss the notion that the era was a "Dark Age" by pointing out that this idea was based on ignorance of the period combined with popular stereotypes: many previous authors would simply assume that the era was a dismal time of violence and stagnation and use this assumption to prove itself.
Oh I'm sorry Wikipedia has set the record straight. Math, Science, and medicine actually blossomed during the Dark Ages lmfao lmfao
I guess when the Roman Catholic Church was setting the blue print for the Taliban by burning down library's and destroying pagan temples and anything they decided to be Heretical like Science, Math and Medicine was actually a great period in our Christian history.
Oh I'm sorry, when you bring in your ficticious description of history, with no evidence or basis in fact, well, that's a much better way of setting the record straight.
Funny how you base your criticisms on how ignorant I am and lacking of proof, but your knowledge is based on urban legend and HS history classes that were never validated, but were merely simple enough to convey to 15 year olds.

You have, but you've dismissed them with circular reasoning.
Yup, still can't provide any.

Sorry if I don't consider Wikipedia a very reliable Historical resource. Do you deny the Roman Catholic Church destroyed pagan temples, burned library's and declared people heretics at the drop of a hat??
The world reacted with horror when the Taliban destroyed one Buddhist shrine and that is nothing compared to what the Roman Empire and its Catholic proxy Church did while spreading the gospel it created.

Well technically they did, but not in Western Europe. The only real cultural advancements in Western Europe seem to be manuscript art, but that might be pushing it.

Wow, that is an incredibly enlightened remark. Boy oh boy, I just can't wait to read what other pearls of wisdom you are going to bless humanity with next on this subject. Does it get lonely in your ivory tower?
