I heard Jorge Sosa blew the game for the Dominicans the other night to Venezuela. Just another reason why we should not think about making him our closer.

yeah, he threw a hanging slider to alex gonzalez and he hit it a mile. but it wasn't fair for sosa. he's a starter, not a reliever.

Wow, I just watched it. Jorge sure did hang it and Gonzalez didn't miss it.

I've never felt Sosa was cut out to be a closer anyway. He clearly looks more relaxed as a starter. Or at least that's what I've observed watching him.

it was awful. i watched the whole game, and it was so back and forth after the 5th. the venezuelans tied it up 7-7 in the 7th, and then in the bottom of the inning, tejada hit a solo shot to take the lead, then the venezuelans tied it up, and then in the bottom of the eigth, jose offerman hit a solo shot and gave the dominicans a 1 run lead. then you know what happened.

i suggest you watch the SS for the dominicans: erick aybar, a top prospect for the Angels. also, javier herrera is the LF for the venezuelans and the #2 prospect for the A's. also, franklin gutierrez is the big prospect traded from the dodgers to the indians. he can really go get 'em in CF.

Crazy finish indeed.

I know it doesn't mean a whole lot since Sosa is not going to be a reliever for us, but this is getting a little scary. We needed Sosa last year, and we'll likely need him again this year. We can't have him pitching like this.

i wouldn't worry. he's not used to being a reliever. though i'm sure he was relieving for the 35 game winter league season. i just can't believe the dominicans blew it again. i was looking forward to a one game playoff tommorrow.

Some fans over on BravesBeat were getting on to me for saying Sosa wasn't closer material. But I think his peformance in the Caribbean Series has proven that. I just can't believe some people want to turn this guy into a closer. He already showed in Tampa he can't cut it out of the bullpen.
