Blessing for a Marriage
~ James Dillet Freeman ~

May your marriage bring you all the exquisite
excitement marriage should bring,
and may life grant you also patience,
tolerance, and understanding.

May you always need one another -
not so much to fill your emptiness
as to help you to know your fullness.
A mountain needs a valley to be complete;
the valley does not make
the mountain less, but more;
and the valley is more a valley because
it has a mountain towering over it.

May you need one another, but not out of weakness.
May you want one another, but not out of lack.
May you entice one another, but not compel one another.
May you embrace one another, but not out encircle one another.
May you succeed in all important ways with one another,
and not fail in the little graces.
May you look for things to praise, often say, "I love you!"
and take no notice of small faults.

If you have quarrels that push you apart,
may both of you hope to have
good sense enough to take the first step back.

May you enter into the mystery which is
the awareness of one another's
presence - no more physical than spiritual,
warm and near when you are
side by side, and warm and near when
you are in separate rooms
or even distant cities.
May you have happiness,
and may you find it making one another happy.
May you have love, and may you find it loving one another.

I saw this poem a few weeks back and thought it was beautiful. I hope yall like it.
Best Wishes, Sarah=NOLEY

Well, the wedding was yesterday and I am emotionally, as well as physically exhausted. Everything went well and it was just beautiful on the Eastern Shore. I had the pleasure of meeting Poohterp and Rt1Rebel and we all had a great time! I'm at my sister-in-law's house now in Clarksville, so I'll say goodbye and check in later when I'm back at home in Florida later this week.

P.S. Ask Pooh politely and she just might post pictures!

Hello everyone. We had a great time. We had a golf tournament Friday morning. My friends Chris and Jim won with a 74 in scramble play. Turtle Protector and I had an 88. Then Friday night I got all of my music friends from various times in the past and we did a really fun show. There were maybe 10-12 different people coming up and singing, playing, etc.... PoohTerp, Rt1Rebel, UMTerp and Hogie were there (and Bill Bobaggins....my mom....of course). It was a blast. Finally, we had the ceremony and reception on Saturday. I had co-best men, and one of them got me one of the best presents I've ever gotten. He got in touch with the equipment manager from the Maryland football team and bought 2 authentic jerseys. Then he got them to stitch my last name and Libby's last name onto the back. Apparently they were even worn at some point last season. He gave me #83 which represents the year the O's won the World Series, and he got #84 for Libby because she is 1 better.... We're spending the next 2 days recovering from a week of hyperactivity and very little sleep. We're not going on a honeymoon immediately. Thanks!

Congratulations!! I had a blast this weekend, it was a great time. I know I'm exhausted after all the fun, I can't imagine how you two must feel. Best wishes to you both, and see you on September 7th!!

Pooh - you at least need to post the canoe picture...

P.S. Drumfish definitely needs to start doing more shows, you guys were awesome.

I'm glad we didn't go to work on Monday!!!!!! We've been unpacking and opening presents. The show was REALLY fun. I couldn't believe how many people came out. The place was packed. Did you like the EMINEM?????? We are going to be doing shows about once a month or so. I'll definitely let everyone know about it. I could also set up and play at Pooh and Rt1Rebel's tailgate parties pretty easily.

Okay.. here's the obligatory blow-by-blow of our wedding weekend with Libby and Larry.

Rt1, Hogie and I arrived in St. Michael's on Friday evening around 9 p.m., just in time for Drumfish to take the stage. This was actually the second time we were able to hear these guys perform together. Well, folks, I'm not kidding you.. these guys are awesome! Libby has about fifty really cute girlfriends, but 99.5% of them are married, so trying to fix UMTerp up was a quest, but by the end of night, we had him moving in on two perfectly suitable targets. The pub was a neat place in the heart of St. Michael's and the owners the establishment were very happy with the evening's proceeds. The bartender encouraged me to encourage Larry to hold an anniversary reunion there every year!

We finally got back to the hotel around 2:30 a.m. and UMTerp had to wake up at 6 a.m. and head back towards DC for a 9 a.m. class.

Rt1 decided it was time to hit the Denny's next door and Hogie and I decided that we should not let him wander around outside on his own in his present condition.

We finally turned the lights out at 4 in the morning. Being the mother, I was still awake by 7 and couldn't go back to sleep. I made sure UMTerp woke up, but when he couldn't remember his cell phone number, I was pretty worried about him driving back to the city.

Saturday was spent, much to Hogie and Rt1's chagrin, going through all the little shops in St. Michael's.

The wedding was at 4 p.m. and UMTerp made it back in time.. albeit, almost without his pants, but this is already getting lengthy. The wedding was outside a beautiful country inn overlooking the water just north of SM's. I have to find out from Larry who the heckler was sitting behind us, but the dude was cracking us up! Spotting Larry before the ceremony he remarked 'Look at Larry, he's about as calm as a priest at a cub scout meeting" followed by 'yeah, he's about as calm as a rabbi at a pork sale."

The ceremony was then underway and everyone just looked fantastic. The humor stopped when a very elegant and beautiful Bill Bobaggins was led down the aisle with tears in her eyes. Yes, she made me cry. Libby was the perfect combination of sexy, but elegant in a dress that was just perfect for her. Cocktails and dinner followed and we were seated at the University of Maryland table with amyeg and Bustaken (better known on accboards), so it was pretty awesome to meet these guys.

The humorous highlight of the evening (referenced by UMTerp above) came after soup and salad and before dinner... various members of the wedding party had made their obligatory toasts, when Libby's dad got up to say a few words and offer a dinner prayer. He went to address his new son-in-law and all eyes went to the bridal party table.. only to find that Larry was not there. So, naturally everyone did a quick glance around the tent to see where he was standing. Suddenly, all at once, we realized that Larry was out in the water in a canoe with the child of one of the guests. I understand that you probably had to have been there to appreciate it, but it was quite humorous, I assure you. (and yes, i have pictures, but they are getting developed).

Well, the evening winded down with another appearance of Drumfish. Larry says I'm wrong, but I know that the hired band had to be jealous because Drumfish just blew them off the stage! I never knew Larry could rap!

Meeting Bill Bobaggins was a highlight of the evening for me. She's a great lady and I could have spent hours chit-chatting with her. Older Lawrenceterp was fun to see again, too. Larry definitely gets his high-energy from his dad!

Larry and Libby.. we had a GREAT weekend with you guys, celebrating your marriage. From tailgates, to the Orange Bowl, to birthday parties and Survivor Parties, we've had a blast just knowing you guys in the past year. We look forward to a future filled with many, many more great times together!
