Boston is not a good spot for the DNC. It's Kerry's stronghold. He's going to win Massachusetts. It's "preaching to the choir". The convention is powerful tool, and ideally it's held in a battleground state so you can fire-up your support and perhaps sway some swing vote.

I realize these things are decided way in advance, but the DNP must be pulling their hair out at this lost opportunity. They'd be much better off in New Orleans, Detroit, St. Louis or maybe Chicago.

As Torch said, the convention locations are determined long ahead of time. But what you won't see if Bush speaking at a Pro-Choice rally, and that's perfectly understandable.
