Dude, what part of "American Idol" do you not understand?
Seriously, 90% is a big number. But, I don't know what the other options were. "Excercise in politics" can mean many things to different people.

I have absolutely no idea who al-Qaeda would rather have as President - attacks will continue when and where they can pull them off, and the chances that a new President will completely pull out of Iraq immediately is slim to none so I don't think a change in the White House actually garners them an immediate desired change.
But I would not be remotely surprised to see a well-timed attack shortly prior to the elections, similar to what occurred in Spain a couple days before their elections. It had a dramatic effect in Spain, and while the U.S. is certainly a different country with a different mindset you have to think that al-Qaeda may believe that they could influence our election in a somewhat similar manner. I'm not so sure it would except to show that U.S. soil may not be as secure as some claim it to be after action in the Middle East - I'd just assume not have that demonstration.

Just to throw my hat in.....
I watch CNN. I don't hate Bush. Lou Dobbs definitly leans left, he makes no secret about it. Most of the news jockies on CNN, if they do lean either direction try not to wear it on their sleeve. I enjoy Crossfire. While that show is nothing more than Rhetoric on both sides, it is entertaining and when you watch the real news it helps to see through what is rhetoric and what is not.
If I could vote for anybody this election it would probably be John McCain, maybe with Joseph Biden as a VP. He's the only guy out there right now who is coming across as a unifyer not a divider. That's what this country needs right now. Right now who ever gets elected (Bush or Kerry), I think half the country will be upset about it.

As for Al Queda, everyone on here who says there is no way to tell what they are going to do, is right to a point. It is very difficult to examine what they will do exactly, but I think when it happens it makes sense. This goes back to having many fronts. We are vunerable in so many places that there are so amny attacks which might be successful.
We know their goals are to get the infidels out of their holy land. There are a large amount of businesses that operate in the holy land. So when they attacked us on Sept 11, they went after the largest symbol of American Business. The world trade center. The attack did not really change anythign about American business in Saudi Arabia directly. This tells us another thing about what they will attack, mostly symbolic targets. So that can narrow down what to expect. I wouldn't expect them to attack a residential neighborhood in the US, or say a factory in an industrial park. But then again maybe what that's what they want us to think.
Oh check this link for a list of the senate and who is the most liberal and who is the most conservative according to the National Review, along with some comments by Kerry on the study.

You guys can't see the forest for the trees.
Apparently neither can Tom Dashle.
Quote:Asked if the timing of the terror concerns might be aimed at stealing political thunder from the announcement of John Edwards as the democratic vice presidential candidate, Daschle replied, "The report is so sobering and so serious that I cannot bring myself to believe anyone in this administration would use this for political purposes."
It's nice to see there are still a few liberals who don't see black helicopters everywhere.
