Took the advice of a good friend, went to bed early, and got up at 2:35 to watch the match. And I am glad I did...within 1 minute of turning on the TV, O'BRIEN SCORED!!!!!!!

USA 1
Mexico 0

This has been quite exciting so far...back to the TV to see if we can score some more! <img border="0" alt="[Cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/cheers.gif" />

Oh my...Landon Donovan heads the ball smack into the goal!

USA 2
Mexico 0

USA...USA...USA... <img border="0" alt="[Cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/cheers.gif" />

Donovan is adorable! And he didn't get a mohawk like Clint Mathis... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="mad-flaming.gif" />

USA! USA! USA! USA!

Wow!

I don't even like soccer and I'm getting excited. Guess I now know how those new hockey fans felt during the Canes' playoff run. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[Cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/cheers.gif" />

Seriously though, after being pathetic for years, where did we get all this new talent from?

The USA's Landon Donovan (left), goalkeeper Brad Friedel (center) and Eddie Lewis celebrate their 2-0 victory over Mexico Monday.

I'd love to see the US team advance again. Go USA! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" />

While we're posting pictures and articles, allow me to plug NC State's own Pablo Mastroeni!
