I agree...if Dallas can play defense at all, they will win it! They have the "Big 3" plus LaFrentz and Van Exel.

THe Wizards will rush through the doors in game 7 of the championship, shouting and whooping, they'll crowd the court, take some warm up shots, then overrun both the other teams and take the championship, 119-76.

I think the Mavs have as good a shot as anyone. I love them and how they play the game.

The only criticism I would have is that they don't really have a banger down low.

If possible, they ought to trade Najera, Lafrentz and Buckner for Ben Wallace. They would be unstoppable, then.

I hate the Mavs the only guy on that team that plays like a man is Michael Finley. All the rest of them are weak big guys who are afraid to post. Nowitski has a bit of a post game but LaFrenz and Wang

Agreed. Dirk is amazing!

But, he isn't a power player. His post game is limited to fade aways, pretty much. His perimeter game is just amazing. He is one of the top 5 players in the league, IMO.

Well I'm new to the board, so obviously it is easy to weigh in on a prediction now. But for my money the team to beat is still the Lakers. Even with Shaq at less then 100% they still have the most balance of any team in the league. They have a force in the post, perimeter players who can knock down the open jumpers and in Kobe they have someone who can create his own shot(and shots for others) anytime he wants to. They also have tremendous versatility on the defensive side of the ball. And in the playoffs, DEFENSE wins games(see recent exit by dallas). They have several excellent perimeter defenders(Kobe, Dfish, Fox, George, Hunter) and with Shaq, Horry and Walker also are long enough to defend the post area. They also have someting else that is extremely important..........they no how to win these games.

I'm not sure who said the following statement, but I find it to be very true.

"never underestimate the heart of a champion!"

And yes I am a Laker fan, I won't hide that....lol
