Richard Clarke, Moore's chief source, says "Big Part of Moore's Movie 'a Mistake'"

Quote:Former White House terrorism czar Richard Clarke, who served as a principal source for conspiracy filmmaker Michael Moore's movie "Fahrenheit 9/11," said this week that the central premise of the film is "a mistake."

In an interview with the Associated Press, Clarke took issue with Moore's criticism that President Bush allowed prominent Saudis, including members of Osama bin Laden's family, to fly out of the U.S. in the days after the 9/11 attacks.

Saying Moore's version of the episode has provoked "a tempest in a tea pot," Clarke called his decision to make the bin Laden family flyout a big part of the film's indictment against Bush "a mistake."
"After 9/11, I think the Saudis were perfectly justified ... in fearing the possibility of vigilantism against Saudis in this country. When they asked to evacuate their citizens ... I thought it was a perfectly normal request," he explained.

Wow. That was an awesome review. Got to the heart of the matter...that most of the ABB folks act like dimwitted college dropouts who think that a one-liner is a well thought out jeremiad.

Of course there are legit criticisms of Bush.

And, I'm sure some of Bush's decisions that I favor still have reasonable objections.

The big problem is that most ABB folks are so used to emotional pleas that they could not construct a rational argument even to save Chriac's life.

I would agree.

I have problems with some of his social spending decisions and his backing off of judicial nominees.

Reasonable objections are never bad. It's always good to have them. It's finding people who can offer them that's the problem. :D

This "documentary" has been discredited in so many ways that it's just overkill now.

How about Michael Isikoff (can't wait to see which of these neo-liberal icons try to cast him as anything but a flaming lib) in Newsweek:

<a href='http://msnbc.msn.com/id/5335853/site/newsweek' target='_blank'>More Distortions From Michael Moore</a>.

More (Moore?) telling perhaps is this one. Seems as if his good pal Billy "Red Chinese in the Oval Office and Lincoln Bedroom" Clinton's friendship with the government he sold the US out to, has paid off for Mikey Mooreon:

<a href='http://english1.peopledaily.com.cn/200407/01/eng20040701_148176.html' target='_blank'>Fahrenheit 9/11 to become first imported documentary in China</a>.
