No disrespect to Safire but he's no right wing conservative either.He did make some good points.Though most of us against FCC regulations are not collectivist but are against the governments role in this matter.Government intervension has not served us well in the past.Who should we trust more?The federal government or private industry?

Yep, true as hell. It's sad, but the government isn't there to serve the people anymore, it is there to get people re-elected by buying votes. It's gone from asset to liability, much the same way as children in the farming days vs. children of today.
