It may be the best newspaper in the English language.

But forget The New York Times.

The Columbus Dispatch will not appear on many lists of liberal media. This family-owned newspaper hasn't endorsed a Democrat for president since Woodrow Wilson.

The scuttlebutt here in town (and in the alternative weekly) is that Bush may have already lost the Dispatch endorsement. The owners of the paper see the Iraq adventure and Bush for what they are: Grave mistakes.
