This could be a great deal for the O's. Don't know much about Ainsworth, but Moss has a great future. He can probably step in and be the O's #3 starter right now. Plus Peter Gammons said the O's will have almost $65 million to spend this winter so they might get Ponson back, plus go after Colon, Millwood, Vlad Guerrero and others.

well, i guess the stupid braves didn't get ponson. i still don't like the trade, unless the Giants can sign Ponson next year, or they win the WS this year. As for Ainsworth, he is better than moss, but both can potentially win at least 15 games.

That's like stealing for Baltimore. You get two good young starters for a guy who's only got 2 months left. Brilliant trade!

Braves: 71-37. Best record in ML's.

Flyingswoosh says: Have you ever thought the Giants might sign Ponson?

I still wish we had Ponson but I guess what we got for him was pretty darn good, apparently the Giants were willing to offer significantly more than any other team. IMO Damian Moss can be a solid 3rd started Ainsworth seems to have the potential to be a solid number 2 and the minor league guy we gets about 10 K per 9 innings pitched, so he has potential to turn into something good. I guess it is a pretty good deal but its just tough to see a guy who has been with the organization for so long leave as soon as he starts to get good. Apparently Ponson didnt get along with Jim Beattie very well and there is little chance of him signing back with the O's next season, I wish him the best of luck regardless.
