It's unfortunate that liberals are dead set against school voucher programs. The National Education Association isn't full of a bunch of teachers and people who care about students, it's about pushing an agenda. Their main goals aren't to enhance their teaching, but to enhance the amount of tax money and jobs recieved through their programs. Their newest push is for a nation wide, taxpayer funded, full day (as opposed to half day), mandatory Pre-k program. This isn't to help students, especially if you consider that the more hours spent in pre-k the more stressful, and disobedient a tudent will become, it's sole purpose is to create more government jobs for biased government workers (teachers). The NEA would like nothing more than to tear students away from their homes and show kids, through newly revamped health classes, etc., that they can manage kids lives better than parents. It's important to note that the NEA was for the "No child left behind act" because it was the most highly funded educational program in history. They now use it as a metaphorical hammer against President Bush.
