It seems to me like the Democrats are racist and love to use small forms of segregation. Dems always call Republicans racist yet many more Republicans voted for the Civil Rights bill than Dems. My big problem in understanding Dems is that they try to segregate the different races. They always talk about how blacks need this and Hispanics need that. They try to give these groups the one up while at the same time saying that people need to be equal. Shouldn't the nation be color blind? Why do Dems try to decide which group needs benefits instead of thinking which people need benefits(though most people who recieve benefits don't deserve them)?

I used to HATE this guy, but it seems he is finally seeing the light.....or at least getting it out in the open. He is going to be VERY detrimental to that biased organization.

did people actually think the NAACP was some peaceful organization only devoted to helping blacks? They're backstabbing politicians also. They're for pushing their own agenda rather than helping blacks.

Quote:many more Republicans voted for the Civil Rights bill than Dems.

This is misleading. One has to remember that Republicans couldn't get elected dogcatcher in the south at the time and that the party was home to many sincere liberals, such as New York Gov. Nelson Rockefeller.

The House vote was 290 to 130. Republicans supported it 138-34. Democrats supported it 152-96.

But this was how the Democratic vote broke down:

Northern Democrats: 141-4, in favor.
Southern Democrats: 92 to 11, against.

This and other votes handed the South to the Republican party, which no longer has much room for public officials as liberal as Rockefeller.
