Judging by the way Rashad McCants finished up his high school career, one can state that the shooting guard from New Hampton School in New Hampshire could be among the top five players in the country. McCants has also dramatically improved his perimeter game. He is now one of the best 3-point shooters in the class of 2002. He led New Hampton to the New England Prep School championship by scoring 38 points against deeply talented Worcester Academy of Massachusetts.

McCants deservedly was selected to the April 4 McDonald's All-American Game. When a reporter asked McCants after a recent game what would he think if Lebron James was allowed to play in the McDonald's event, Rashad seemed unfazed. "I played against him before," McCants said.

McCants then gave the look of confidence and gave a coy smile. Was this a "so what" smile? . . .
