Who is they?

And please don't tell me that O'Reilly is a conservative. If you watch him for an extended period of time (if your stomach allows it) you will see, he is there to play devils advocate. He almost always takes the position opposite to his guests. He is only looking for ratings and $$$'s, and does not take a real stand on anything.

I watch Fox regularly and my favorite two hours are weeknights between 7 and 8 CST. That way I can see O'Reilly and then Sean Hannity. I watch these guys because they are so damn funny. Sometimes, the ridiculousness of their opinions is so outrageous that I'm literally rolling around on the floor laughing my but off!

O'Reilly is a card! He likes to invite guests on his show, and then he won't let them talk!

I saw O'Reilly go against Franken on a C-SPAN forum. Franken tore him a new a-hole and O'Reilly walked off the stage a sore loser.

Gray, I agree. All of these political opinion shows are not news and they are entirely ratings concious. CNN's Crossfire, for example, will invite the most extreme example of the Right and then deconstruct his positions because it is easy to do so. And then they imply that all of the Right believes as their guest does. Hannity does the same thing. They invite the most extreme-liberal faction of the Left and then deconstruct their arguments/comments. Then Hannity says that all of the Left believes exactly as their guest does.

These kinds of shows are merely for entertainment and they work, I'm entertained!

When I am able to stomach him, at the end of each segment, I can never figure out what his position on the issue is. He starts off with one stance, then shifts a touch to defend the barrage of rational (on occasion) argument, then mumbles for about 5 minutes, then says 'See, I was right'.

After I pick up the little pieces of brain from my spontaneous head explosion, I just blink and wonder 'Why the fonk am I watching this idiot?'

I wouldn't call very many who label themselves "conservatives" as conservative. Our current (p)resident sure doesn't qualify, nor do many around him, nor his supporters. Hannitty and O'Reilly are as qualified to use the term as the neocons are.

I listened to Neal Boortz the other day and all I have to say is, SCARY!

That dude scared the b-Jesus out of me!

A caller challenged him on some things Boortz said in a previous show. Boortz hung up on him. The caller was calm and rational (however I didn't know all the particulars of the challenge) and he made some simple points in logic. Boortz ended the call and then launched various ad hominems at the caller.

After that, he went into a tyrade on Hillary Clinton and I figured that was enough for me. Not that I support Hillary, it's just that I don't live in New York so she's about as pertinent to my life as a stick.

Hell, Sean Hannity is no better. He called up a teacher the other day to "interview" him and wound up just bullying the guy on the air for five minutes!

Fair? Balanced? RIIIIGHT! 03-wink

Speaking of right-wing nuts, this is pretty funny:

Push the button on the figure, and you'll hear such "Coulterisms" as:

"Liberals can't just come out and say they want to take more of our money, kill babies, and discriminate on the basis of race."

"At least when right-wingers rant, there's a point."

"Swing voters are more appropriately known as the 'idiot voters' because they have no set of philosophical principles. By the age of fourteen, you're either a Conservative or a Liberal if you have an IQ above a toaster."

"Why not go to war just for oil? We need oil. What do Hollywood celebrities imagine fuels their private jets? How do they think their cocaine is delivered to them?"

"Liberals hate America, they hate flag-wavers, they hate abortion opponents, they hate all religions except Islam, post 9/11. Even Islamic terrorists don't hate America like Liberals do. They don't have the energy. If they had that much energy, they'd have indoor plumbing by now."

This highly collectible doll comes in a display box with information highlighting Ann's unique contributions to America's political discourse. If you can't get enough Ann Coulter, you'll want to order the Ann Coulter Talking Action Figure today!
